Where is Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch, and where do you park?
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Geukdong VIP Building near National Assembly Station in Yeouido. Free parking is available in the building's basement. Even from outside, that sweet, savory smell was already drifting out and getting my mouth watering haha.

Walking up to the 2nd floor, the delicious smell got even stronger. There's a waiting bench in front of the entrance so you can sit while you wait.

Gaetbeol-ui Jogae's new menu item, seafood boiling! I've wanted to try this for a while now. I always thought you could only eat this near the coast, so being able to have it in Yeouido, Seoul feels totally lucky!!

There are great-value lunch options like clam kalguksu (noodle soup), Namhae fire-blood-cockle rice bowl, and Namhae cockle bibimbap, plus with free corkage, plenty of drinking snacks that go well with alcohol in the evening.

Wow~ this is the signature menu, the large clam hot pot!! Had the boiling today, decided this one's for next time haha.
Inside Gaetbeol-ui Jogae: the window-side private room

The interior of Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch is as big as the outside suggests. The spacious hall had lots of tables in front of and behind a central self-bar. With generous, great-value lunch options, Gaetbeol-ui Jogae is popular as a go-to spot for office worker lunches.

Besides the large hall, there were also plenty of different rooms. Nearly all of those rooms were full during lunch hour. The 4-seat room~ Since it's by the window, there's a view too, and the vibe was really nice. Coat hangers and aprons were prepared in the room. If you're looking for a Yeouido room restaurant with spacious rooms great for company dinners or group gatherings, I'd recommend this place~ We were lucky enough to get a window seat.

Clams are great for high protein, dieting, and improving liver function. Knowing this makes it taste even better ^^
All-you-can-eat barley rice at the self-corner
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch has a self-corner so you can help yourself comfortably. Before the main dish, there's all-you-can-eat barley rice as an appetizer~^^

There's fresh kimchi, yeolmu (young radish) kimchi, chili, wasabi, and macaroni salad. The fresh kimchi is seriously delicious 👍

Order using the tablet on the table! Four tempting single-dish lunch options showed up. But we went for the seafood boiling we'd been wanting~ It comes in small, medium, large, and special sizes, so you can order according to your headcount.
There's also a menu board right on the table that's easy to see at a glance, so it would be easy for elderly guests to read too. Since it was lunchtime, a lot of tables were having kalguksu, and the portions looked generous and delicious.

After ordering, I went to the self-corner to grab barley rice~ Here's how to enjoy barley yeolmu bibimbap deliciously: scoop barley rice and yeolmu kimchi, add seasoned gochujang or doenjang paste, drizzle with sesame oil, then mix well and eat.

With the nutty scent of sesame oil rising, chewy barley rice, refreshing crunchy yeolmu, and savory doenjang paste, the combination was excellent. I thought about getting another bowl but held off to save room for the main dish haha.
Seafood boiling, small size for two: what's in it and how it tastes

Finally, the long-awaited seafood boiling arrived. Clams like scallops and mussels, seafood like abalone, whole squid, and shrimp, plus fish cake skewers, garaetteok (rice cake sticks), and sausage — ingredients kids would love too, so this is a dish everyone from kids to adults can enjoy.

Since there were two of us, we ordered the small size, but it was really generous. Tossed in the red special sauce, the visual was even more tempting 😍

The sauce was deeper and richer than a spaghetti sauce, with a nice savory kick. I'm sensitive to spice so it felt a bit spicy to me, but my friend said it wasn't spicy at all haha. Most importantly, freshness matters most with seafood — and this passed with flying colors 👏

The sides: spaghetti, morning bread rolls and fried rice
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae's seafood boiling comes with spaghetti and sauce, morning bread, and fried rice as sides. With these sides, you get to enjoy the boiling even more generously and in more variety.

A staff member came by and used scissors and tongs to cut the whole squid, sausage, and rice cake into easy-to-eat pieces.
Getting ready to dig in properly meant prepping all the clams first~ With abalone and scallops in such generous portions, the prep took quite a while, but it was such a fun wait knowing what was coming ^^

The shrimp, rigatoni, fish cake, and garaetteok were all well-seasoned and tasted good 👍 Honestly, since it was my first time, I expected only seafood, so having such a varied spread was beyond my expectations.

After eating a good amount, tossing in the spaghetti noodles to mix with the leftover sauce starts round two 😋 The fluffy fried rice is also a flavor kids would totally love.

The clam shells piled up enough to fill two containers — such a generous amount. Can't believe we finished it all~🫢

At the counter, they even had candy, hair ties, dental floss, and mouthwash on hand — you can really feel the owner's thoughtfulness~
I recommend Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch, a restaurant near National Assembly Station in Yeouido, for fresh and generous clams and seafood, and a favorite lunch spot among office workers~
