Sadang Station group bar for cilantro beef tacos, nachos: Weizenhaus

Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 (바이젠하우스 방배1호점) is a wood-fired pizza and craft beer bar in a basement right outside Exit 11 of Sadang Station in Seocho, Seoul. After a company dinner, the writer's group went to Weizenhaus for a second round of beef tacos loaded with cilantro and cheese nachos. They drank Harry Potter dark beer, craft lager and Suntory draft beer. With a large space, late hours and a wide range of drinks, Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 was a satisfying second-round spot for a group with mixed tastes.

Seocho tonkatsu, lunch before the Yangjae Art Salon: Yangjae Katsu

Yangjae Katsu is a Japanese-style tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, about a 9-minute walk from Yangjae Station Exit 8 and close to Yangjaecheon stream. Before visiting the autumn Yangjae Art Salon festival and the garden expo at Maeheon Citizen's Forest, two friends had Saturday lunch at Yangjae Katsu: a buckwheat soba and hire katsu (pork tenderloin cutlet) set for 17,000 won and a hire katsu, cheese katsu and fried shrimp set for 18,500 won. As long as you know Yangjae Katsu has no parking, it is a filling lunch worth recommending before a Yangjaecheon outing.

Sadang gopchang grill, after-work draft beer outdoors: Bareun Hwangso

Bareun Hwangso Gopchang (바른황소곱창) is a beef gopchang (grilled beef small intestine) restaurant in the Sadang 1-dong food alley near Exit 10 of Sadang Station, Seoul, with outdoor tables out front and draft beer on tap. After work, the writer had 2 servings of assorted gopchang with draft beer; the kitchen grills everything and serves it on the iron plate, and the bean sprout fish cake soup was a highlight. If you want to unwind with draft beer and beef gopchang near Sadang Station, Bareun Hwangso Gopchang is a great fit.

Gyodae Station Korean pub after a fall festival with parents: Daseon

Daseon Kalguksu Gyodae (다선칼국수 교대직영점) is a two-floor Korean pub and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) restaurant between Seocho Station and Gyodae Station in Seocho, Seoul. After a fall festival with their parents, the writer stopped at Daseon Kalguksu for yeonpotang (octopus soup) with extra kalguksu noodles, a medium bossam (boiled pork wraps) and conch and chive salad, washed down with makgeolli. With soup, meat and a tangy salad, the combination at Daseon Kalguksu Gyodae was filling both as a meal and as drinking food.

Clap Pizza Gasan Public is a pizza restaurant in Gasan Public Building A near Gasan Digital Complex Station in Geumcheon, Seoul, run as a combined store with Downtowner. Two friends shared a half-and-half large (L) pizza, pepperoni and cheese, at lunch, and the crispy, chewy dough, generous cheese and garlic dipping sauce worked well together. With plenty of pizza for two and 2 hours of free parking, Clap Pizza Gasan Public is a good-value lunch spot.

Korean BBQ team dinner near Gyodae Station: juicy pork neck, Gyodaepae

Gyodaepae is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, between Gyodae Station and Seocho Station, specializing in chilled, never-frozen thin-sliced pork belly. On the company-dinner recommendation of a friend who works near Seocho Station, the writer ordered the Gyodaepae Set (43,000 won) with old-style yukhoe (beef tartare) and cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), alternating between nutty chilled pork belly and juicy chilled pork neck. The Gyodaepae Set suits any group that wants to compare three thin-sliced cuts, including never-frozen ones, in one order.

Mokdong ramen shop with my nieces: basic vs rich broth, Gyedan Ramen

Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch is a tonkotsu Japanese ramen restaurant on basement level 1 of the PARK161 building, home of SBS, in Mokdong, Yangcheon, Seoul. Over a weekend lunch with nieces, the writer compared gyedan ramen (₩11,000) and motsu ramen (₩12,000) in both basic and rich broth. When told the food was for children, staff left out the pepperoncino, and high chairs and kids' tableware made the meal easy. Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch is an easy stop when you want rich Japanese ramen with children in tow.

Seocho noodle spot with a high chair after Yangjae Art Salon: Seonbawi

Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch (선바위메밀장터 양재점) is a buckwheat restaurant near Yangjaesiminuisup Station in Seocho, Seoul, serving pure buckwheat makguksu (chilled buckwheat noodles), buckwheat clam kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and king mandu (large dumplings). After the 2026 Yangjae Art Salon along Yangjaecheon Stream, the writer came with a baby for the clam-heaped buckwheat clam kalguksu (13,000 won per person, 2-person minimum) and neungi mushroom and meat king mandu, and the parking out front and a high chair made the meal easy. Seonbawi Memil Jangteo is a good stop when you want a clear-broth meal with a little one after a Yangjaecheon outing.

Gangnam Station burger restaurant, lunch before a movie: Downtowner

Downtowner Gangnam is a handmade burger restaurant on Teheran-ro 1-gil, near Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. Before a movie at Gangnam Station CGV, the writer and a friend had lunch at Downtowner Gangnam: a Classic Cheese Double Burger set (17,800 won) with crisp, pressed-and-seared beefy patties, and the signature Avocado Burger (12,700 won) layered with avocado, plus free self-serve refills of drinks and onion pickles. Verdict: Downtowner Gangnam is an easy, satisfying burger lunch near Gangnam Station, even for solo diners.

Gyodae lamb skewer team dinner: 13th anniversary set at Hanseong

Hanseong Yanggalbi Yangkkochi is a lamb skewer and Chinese restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 14 of Gyodae Station in Seocho, Seoul. The 13th anniversary thank-you set at Hanseong Yanggalbi Yangkkochi costs ₩53,000 and includes one serving of lamb sirloin skewers, one serving of lamb skewers and jisamseon (stir-fried potato, eggplant and pepper). The skewers were grilled over charcoal and eaten with jisamseon and Tsingtao. Verdict: with almost no gamey smell and roomy seating, Hanseong Yanggalbi Yangkkochi is a good pick for an after-work team dinner near Gyodae Station.

Seocho tonkatsu restaurant with katsu takeout after work: Kosi Gyodae

Kosi Gyodae Branch is a tonkatsu and sanuki udon restaurant in an alley between Gyodae Station and Seocho Station in Seocho, Seoul, and has been featured on the Korean TV show Life's Champions (생활의달인). On a weekday dinner visit after work, the order was sanuki noodle bukkake udon (cold udon in dipping sauce), cheese tonkatsu and a mixed katsu set with king shrimp, and the leftover tonkatsu went home in a takeout container. Weekday lunch from 11:30 to 13:00 can mean a wait, but dinner at Kosi Gyodae Branch is relaxed enough to eat slowly and pack the rest.
