Sunny's Pizza Market is a newly opened pizza place in Yeonnam-dong, near Hongik Univ. Station. It's time for my regular "gappittaeng" (short for "suddenly craving pizza" day)! I heard a new pizza spot had opened in Yeonnam-dong, so I went for a late lunch on the weekend!

Sunny's Pizza Market (써니스피자마켓) is at 249 Donggyo-ro, 2nd floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3. It's open 12:00-22:00 with last order at 21:30, and closed every Monday. They have high chairs too.

How to get to Sunny's Pizza Market: from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3 along Gyeongui Line Forest Park

Come out of Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3, walk straight along Gyeongui Line Forest Park, then turn into the alley next to Hollys and you'll see Sunny's Pizza Market 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕

Turns out the original shop is in Suji, Yongin, and they recently relocated to Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul! I heard it's famous for delicious pizza, so I was even more excited.

Inside Sunny's Pizza Market: a good place for a date?

Inside is a fairly spacious, pleasant hall with a bright, cute vibe, so it's great for a date too.

The posters and props everywhere are so cute, totally my taste. And all the staff were really kind, which put me in an even better mood.

Takeout and delivery? 10% off for takeout

Sunny's Pizza Market gives 10% off for in-person takeout. While I was there, takeout and delivery orders kept coming in. If you want pizza delivered near Hongik Univ. Station in Yeonnam-dong, I recommend Sunny's! (It's tasty.)

I also heard it's a pizza place that was picked for the Blue Ribbon Survey three years in a row.

The restroom is one floor down, and you have to take the key with you!

Menu and how to order at Sunny's Pizza Market

You order and pay on the tablet at each table.

Sizes start from personal pizzas, so eating pizza solo works. There are pasta, nachos and buffalo wings as sides, plus draft and bottled beer, so it's perfect for pizza and beer.

What's in the self-bar? Garlic dipping sauce is free too

The self-bar at Sunny's Pizza Market has everything from tableware to plastic gloves, crushed red pepper, garlic dipping sauce, pickles and hot sauce, and you just take what you need.

I only took what I'd eat. Lots of pizza places charge extra for garlic dipping sauce, so I liked that you can have as much as you want (though I only had one, haha), and I liked that the pickles weren't too sweet.

Cass draft beer and Coke Zero: how cold are they?

I ordered a cold Cass draft beer and a Coke Zero at Sunny's Pizza Market! I like my drinks ice-c~~old, and these were so cold you didn't even need a cup of ice.

Regular half-and-half pizza: how do pepperoni and Smooth Potato taste?

Next came the star of the day, a regular-size half-and-half pizza! I picked pepperoni and Smooth Potato for my two flavors.

Look at that cheese pull! It's loaded with cheese and toppings.

Smooth Potato: the softness of mashed potato

The Smooth Potato at Sunny's Pizza Market is topped with mashed potato rather than sliced potato, so a soft, nutty flavor fills your mouth.

Mozzarella and maybe cheddar? There seem to be other cheeses mixed in too, and the unsalty, fresh natural cheese flavor was the best.

Pepperoni: peppery, salty and great with beer

Now let's try my favorite, the pepperoni, with another big cheese pull!

The fragrant pepper and salty pepperoni combo isn't greasy and went well with the beer.

Is the cheese crust add-on worth it?

I added cheese crust to my half-and-half pizza at Sunny's Pizza Market, and I was surprised that the crust is generously stuffed with thick cheese. It's even better dipped in the garlic dipping sauce. The flavor is insane!
