5pm family dinner Korean BBQ platter in Mokpo Pyeonghwa Square: Simdon
Simdon Mokpo Pyeonghwagwangjang Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Mokpo's Pyeonghwa Square specializing in a mixed grill platter of pork belly, pork skin, and flower pork collar. Visiting at 5pm, the writer enjoyed the assorted platter with chives, enoki mushroom, pineapple, minari, bean sprouts, kimchi, and myeoljeot (fermented anchovy) sauce, plus complimentary tall cheese egg custard and doenjang sul-bap (soybean paste rice). Portions were a touch small for big eaters, but given today's prices it was a satisfying, reasonably priced meal.
