Haeundae Chinese restaurant, tangsuyuk sauce on the side: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a Chinese restaurant at the entrance to Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. Two friends shared brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup), whose broth was as rich as slow-simmered beef bone soup, and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), whose batter stayed crisp even with the sauce poured over it. If you prefer dipping, ask Bueokgan Chinese for the tangsuyuk sauce on the side when you order.

Hi everyone~ bringing you a review of a Chinese restaurant that felt classy and satisfying haha
A while back I met up with a friend after a long time, and we both said we wanted something hearty and delicious. After searching around, I found today's Haeundae hotspot Chinese restaurant: Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch.

Honestly I didn't go in with high expectations, but by the time we left, all I could think was 'I want to come back' lol
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch hours and parking
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. There's a break time from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and it's good to know last order is around 8:30 PM.
The address is 1F, 200 Dalmaji-gil117beon-na-gil, Haeundae-gu, Busan. There are two to three parking spots right beside the restaurant, which is where we parked too. It's near the entrance to Dalmaji-gil, so it's not hard to find — the building sits on the uphill road toward Dongbaek Elementary School. Apparently this was once the site of Sansu Bathhouse, so the alley has a slightly retro feel. It's also a good stop on the way to Cheongsapo or Blueline Park.

The vibe of the place felt like this
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch felt more like a restaurant than a typical Chinese joint. You'd usually picture Chinese restaurants as casual and relaxed, but this place was completely different. The moment we walked in, the lighting and table settings had a strong restaurant feel.
The floor and wall finishes were clean too, which gave me confidence in the hygiene. My friend and I said the moment we sat down that it felt like fine dining. It'd be great for a date, and also just right for a quiet meal with conversation.

Brisket jjamppong broth as rich as bone soup
What we ordered was brisket jjamppong and tangsuyuk. Looking at the menu, there were more varieties of jjamppong than I expected. We picked the brisket version, and it was truly the right call. The broth was as rich and deep as a long-simmered bone soup.
Piled high with brisket, every bite delivered a burst of meaty juices along with the spicy broth.

I don't usually go for jjamppong broth, but here I couldn't put down my spoon — it kept pulling me back in. It was spicy, but addictively so.

Tangsuyuk comes with sauce poured on — ask ahead if you're a dipper
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch's tangsuyuk comes with the sauce already poured on top. If you love the sauce-poured style, this is exactly your thing. If you prefer dipping the sauce separately, it's a good tip to tell the staff in advance.

What surprised me was that even a good while after the sauce was poured on, the batter never got soggy.
The batter itself was crisp outside and chewy inside, so it held its texture well even after long contact with the sauce. My friend, who's a sauce-poured loyalist, ate it all the way through with a crispy texture from start to finish.

The staff service was great too
Even at an off-peak time, there were quite a lot of customers. Even so, serving and handling our requests wasn't slow at all — the staff were quick and sharp.
When we asked for water or extra side dishes, they took care of it right away, which made the meal easy and comfortable. Seeing this, I thought there's clearly a reason this Haeundae hotspot Chinese restaurant holds its spot.

Tips to know before you go
- If you prefer dipping sauce, don't forget to request it separately in advance.
- Even at off-peak hours it tends to be crowded, so check the break time and last order time before you go.
- There are only a few parking spots right beside the restaurant, so it's best to hurry a bit.
- It'd be great for group gatherings too!!

Who I'd recommend this to
I'd recommend this to anyone who loves a spicy yet deep broth. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a Chinese food date in a clean, polished setting.
If you love sauce-poured tangsuyuk, you'll be genuinely satisfied. It's also perfect if you want a hearty meal near Dalmaji-gil.
After this visit, I really understood why everyone names this place as the Haeundae hotspot Chinese restaurant. Next time I want to try the ganjjajang (black bean noodles) and jjamppong too. If you're looking for a Haeundae hotspot Chinese restaurant, I strongly recommend this place.
