Bucheon duck restaurant for a hangover meal with friends: Keunsawi
In short
Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch (큰사위 오리집 부천옥길본점) is a duck restaurant on Yeondong-ro in Okgil-dong, Sosa-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. Four friends went for a hangover meal after a night of drinking and each ordered the Keunsawi Special Course (23,900 won), eating duck dori-tang (spicy braised duck stew), cypress-steamed duck, perilla seed baeksuk (whole boiled poultry soup) and tricolor fried rice, plus unlimited gondre (Korean thistle) rice from the self-serve bar. Even with a 30-minute Sunday lunch wait, Keunsawi Ori Jip was a great restorative meal.

I got back to Korea yesterday, watched a baseball game and drank with friends at home, so I went looking for a hangover-fixing place and suddenly remembered it: Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch (큰사위 오리집 부천옥길본점) in Okgil-dong! When you think of duck restaurants, the first dish is duck jumulleok (marinated grilled duck), but this Bucheon duck restaurant sells something special called duck dori-tang (duck stew), which made it even more memorable.

How to get to Keunsawi Ori Jip and where to park
Keunsawi Ori Jip in Okgil-dong is not far from Bucheon Sosa Police Station. The nearest stations are Yeokgok, Onsu and Cheonwang on Lines 1 and 7, but it's hard to walk from them, so you'll want to go by car. There's a parking lot in front of the restaurant, so you can park easily and walk in!
Exterior, interior and the Sunday lunch wait
Okgil-dong still has a countryside feel, so you might expect a duck place to be in a fairly old building, but Keunsawi Ori Jip is in a clean building that looks fairly new, which I liked. The entrance is on the right side as you face the front, so go in through the right-hand door.

In front of the restaurant there were omija tea, plum tea and coffee for after the meal, and a tablet at the entrance for joining the waiting list! Even though it was Sunday lunch, it was busy, and the estimated wait was about 30 minutes!
The place is by no means small, yet it was full, and the empty tables were all reserved, that's how popular it is.

Unlimited gondre rice self-serve bar and seaweed soup for kids
Keunsawi Ori Jip also serves gondre rice (rice with thistle greens) without limit. You can scoop as much mushroom gondre rice as you like, and the four of us finished 2 bowls before the meal even came out. They also serve mildly seasoned seaweed soup for children aged 8 and under, so it's great for anyone bringing kids!

The self-serve corner is well stocked, so you can fetch more side dishes whenever you run short. The "mother-in-law's geotjeori" (fresh kimchi) had a lot of salted-seafood flavor and a spicy kick that was excellent, so I went back for it several times.
Menu: what's in the 23,900-won Keunsawi Special Course?

✅️Keunsawi Special Course ₩23,900 × 4
We wanted a generous meal, so we ordered the Keunsawi Special Course: duck dori-tang, cypress-steamed duck, perilla seed chicken soup, a vegetable add-on, a rice cake add-on and tricolor fried rice. Great value for money.

I brought sweet chili and peanut sauces, and grabbed gondre rice from the self-serve corner too! With good rice and nutty gondre rice topped with seasoned soy sauce, it's heaven.
They also gave us the basic side dishes and omega-3 supplements, so we could really restore our bodies properly.
How are the cypress-steamed duck and perilla seed baeksuk served?

The first dish ready was the cypress-steamed duck, with the duck dori-tang set up underneath it, haha. The dori-tang cooks together with it, so it's time-efficient, and the steamed duck is set on a timer for about 12 minutes, after which a staff member comes to check, so there was nothing for us to cook ourselves!

Next came the perilla seed chicken soup, which you can eat right away, so it was good for calming our hungry stomachs.

The broth had lots of perilla seed so it was nutty, and the chicken seemed stewed for a long time because it was so tender and easy to eat, haha.

Then the steamed duck finished cooking and we dug in right away. I worried it might smell gamey, but there was no duck funk at all, and it was delicious with crunchy bean sprouts. Almost no difference from beef!

Trying duck dori-tang for the first time: aged kimchi makes it
Next, the special dish, duck dori-tang! It was my first time trying it here.

It has duck, assorted vegetables and mukeunji (aged kimchi), so it tastes deep and healthy.
It cooked alongside the steamed duck, so after boiling a while we started eating right away! It has plenty of duck, and I liked the variety: wood ear mushrooms, garlic chives, potatoes, rice cake add-on and more. That slightly tangy aged kimchi was so good that I even thought they should sell kimchi jjim (braised kimchi) too, haha.

Finishing with tricolor fried rice and after-meal tea
Next up, the tricolor fried rice, haha. You make it yourself: leave a moderate amount of broth and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes. The broth is so good that the fried rice couldn't be bad, but there was so much food that everyone was full and we couldn't finish it, which was a shame T_T

Since we'd eaten so much, we had plum tea and omija tea as dessert to help digestion!
Verdict: is Keunsawi Ori Jip worth it for a hangover meal?
My first encounter with duck dori-tang was at Keunsawi Ori Jip, haha. I came once before and loved it so much that it stuck in my memory, and this time I was happy to bring friends and satisfy them too. The place was in great condition, and the unlimited gondre rice makes it good for bringing older family members. After a long summer vacation my body felt a bit depleted, but after eating here the tiredness seemed to vanish. If you're looking for a good place in Okgil-dong or a Bucheon duck restaurant, Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch is worth a visit.
