Hapjeong hair salon ₩70,000 root dye, soft brown, C-curl: Pieum Hair

While looking for a hair salon, I ended up getting a root dye from the head designer (실장님) at Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch (피움헤어 합정 본점), very close to Hapjeong Station, and I want to leave a review.

Location and opening hours of Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch

Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch is at 2 Dongmak-ro, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, near Exit 7 of Hapjeong Station. It is open Mon and Wed–Sun 10:30–21:00 and closed every Tuesday.

The salon is right by Exit 7 of Hapjeong Station, so it felt like only about 2 minutes on foot? A salon that close is the best, honestly~!!! Public transport is much more convenient if you visit, haha (though there is underground parking too!).

Inside was a spacious, pleasant salon. The weather was nice and they had the door open, so the shop felt bright and airy, which I liked. Overall it felt really cozy!

How much is a root dye at Pieum Hair in Hapjeong?

The root dye (under 3cm) I got at Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch cost ₩70,000. I have some gray hair and my color looked patchy, so I came for a root dye :(

My goal was a root dye!! She looked at my hair and immediately figured out when I'd last dyed it, haha. You'd think a root dye just means coloring the new growth, but it matters that the color blends naturally with the existing hair, so doing it myself didn't work out :( Even if it's a bit of a hassle, I keep hunting for a good salon like this, sob.

The shop dog and drinks at Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch

Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch has a cute dog in the shop, and they also serve drinks such as coffee and tea. Don't worry, the dog doesn't come up to customers!

I didn't know beforehand, but there's a very cute dog in the shop. It's so cute that my eyes kept going to it...!!! Everyone else was looking at it and cooing too, haha. If you love dogs, you can relax and enjoy your hair appointment while watching it! (a bonus)

They also served drinks, haha. There were a few kinds, like coffee and tea, and my pick was the chilled dungulle tea (roasted Solomon's seal tea). It was so refreshing and good!

How were the root dye consultation and the shampoo?

Even though it was only a root dye, the head designer at Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch looked at my hair as a whole, explained the color direction step by step, and dyed it carefully. The shampoo included a little massage and felt really refreshing.

The designer who did my hair was the head designer, and even though it was just a root dye, she was incredibly thorough,, She looked at the overall condition and calmly explained how she'd do the color! She also explained things like where my bangs should fall to look best.

+ And the shampoo felt so~~ refreshing and good!! (it came with a little massage too) You could really feel the skill!

Gray root dye result: soft brown and a C-curl blow-dry

The root dye result at Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch was a brown that blended naturally and softly with my existing hair, and she finished with a C-curl blow-dry. It was perfect for heading straight to my next appointment.

After waiting for the color to set,,, the photo above is how it looked after dyeing, and I loved how the overall tone connected so naturally and softly!! :( It ended up as exactly the soft brown I wanted, so I was really happy. + She also finished the blow-dry with a pretty C-curl, haha.

(P.S.) The next day I met friends and they asked if I'd gotten a treatment at the salon, lol. I only had a root dye, yet my hair felt smooth too, so amazing,,,, It made me want to try a clinic (hair treatment) next time,, haha.
