I was hunting for a good place near Daeheung Station and found this duck BBQ spot in Gongdeok! It's newly opened, and it has outdoor tables with a street-tavern (yajang) vibe, so it's popular as a Gongdeok drinking spot too. Off to Gongjung Dodeok (공중도덕), the Mapo duck place!

Gongjung Dodeok hours and parking

Gongjung Dodeok is open daily from 11:30 to 22:30, with last order at 21:30. There's no parking, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot, and no parking support is offered.

Exterior and outdoor yajang tables

Gongjung Dodeok has a reputation as a Gongdeok duck BBQ hotspot! It's brand new, and I took this photo right at opening, which is why it looks empty. In the evening it's packed, haha.

There's roast duck that kids love too, so it's perfect for a family meal in Gongdeok, and the duck menu is varied: jumulleok, gobongorichadol, gonggamtang and more~

The outdoor yajang-style tables recreate the mood of a Joseon-era hanok (traditional house) eatery! The evenings are nice these days, so it seems these seats fill up first, haha.

What can you order at the outdoor tables?

The outdoor tables can't be reserved, and since grills aren't allowed there, you can only order the jumulleok set or single-serving jumulleok. Just so you know~

Indoor atmosphere and the duck rules

The way in to Gongjung Dodeok, a Korean restaurant near Daeheung Station~ It's nicely decorated with an old-time feel, haha.

The inside is big, with lots of tables! Mostly 4-person tables, so it's great for a meal out near Daeheung Station, and a popular Gongdeok date spot for a drink in a nice atmosphere~

The interior has a double dose of old-time charm~ There are also duck rules posted: fried rice is a procedure you must duly follow, and leaving food behind is not a virtue, lol.

Table amenities and how to order

The restroom is inside, and neat disposable aprons hang on the wall, so just grab one~

Menu and what we ordered (as of June 2026)

At Gongjung Dodeok, a Gongdeok duck BBQ spot, you can have roast duck, duck jumulleok, gobongori (thinly sliced duck), and gonggamtang, a duck gamjatang (pork-bone-style potato stew)~ There's also a good-value set that includes both duck and gonggamtang, and lots of sides that work well, like kimchi pancake, barley shrimp minari pancake and potato pancake, haha. For lunch you can also order pot rice, so it's a pot rice spot near Daeheung Station too~

  • 2-person set: duck jumulleok and roast half-and-half + gonggamtang (₩69,000)
  • Barley shrimp minari pancake (₩22,000)
Basic side dishes and sauces at Gongjung Dodeok

The side dishes came out fast and neat~ From pickled stems and green onion kimchi to ssam radish and perilla leaves, plus perilla sauce for the duck and a dipping sauce~

And the gonggamtang, the duck gamjatang~ It sits on a gas burner, so you can eat it piping hot to the very end, haha.

How was the jumulleok and roast half-and-half set?

The 2-person half-and-half set at Gongjung Dodeok comes with duck jumulleok, roast duck and minari (water dropwort) on top, so you get the clean, light flavor and the seasoned flavor at once. And here comes the duck from the set~

Duck jumulleok + roast duck + minari~ Wow, so generous! I like getting two kinds: light roast duck and well-seasoned jumulleok, and you can see the freshness with your own eyes, haha.

Rice cakes and thinly sliced potato come by default, a nice touch~ Sizzling away now~

Barley shrimp minari pancake (₩22,000)

The barley shrimp minari pancake is ₩22,000, a big minari pancake packed with barley shrimp. And here comes the big minari pancake~

I figured the half-and-half set would already be plenty, but I wanted a pancake too, and as expected the portions are really generous.

A crispy pancake loaded with crunchy barley shrimp!! A soy dipping sauce comes with it~

The barley shrimp really crunch, it's nutty, and the minari scent drifts up. So good, haha. A perfect side while eating duck~

How to cook the duck, and the gonggamtang

Flip the meat as it cooks sizzling on the grill~ The rice cakes are soft and tasty too.

The light roast duck with minari is a great combo, and the sweet-spicy, well-seasoned duck is delicious too. A great duck BBQ place in Mapo!

A bite of well-cooked roast duck with minari

Dip it in the sauces, pair it with the various side dishes, or wrap it in a perilla leaf or ssam radish for a clean bite~

Gonggamtang is duck gamjatang with a gamjatang-style broth, so it's nutty and something nobody should dislike, and it has lots of perilla leaves for a fragrant touch, haha.

Who is Gongjung Dodeok for?

Gongjung Dodeok is a Korean restaurant near Daeheung Station with real yajang-style outdoor tables and a hanok-style atmosphere indoors! You can enjoy duck in many forms: roast duck, seasoned duck jumulleok, soy-based gobongori, and gonggamtang, the duck gamjatang. I'd also recommend the set menu, which lets you try roast and jumulleok half and half~ haha.

The crunchy barley shrimp minari pancake was delicious too, and with well-seasoned jumulleok, light roast duck and fragrant minari together, it's a great duck spot near Daeheung Station! The place is big with lots of tables, so it's good for a meal out or a date near Daeheung Station. Gongjung Dodeok, a Mapo duck BBQ spot, gets my recommendation~
