Which rattan bag did I choose for a vacation trip?

Once my project is over, I’m planning to head to a warm country, so I started looking in advance for a bag to carry at a vacation destination. I wanted one that was affordable but had plenty of storage space.

The one I chose was the Meda Bag Women's Shoulder Summer Rattan Bag. It was in the high ₩10,000 range when I wrote the original post, which felt like an easy price to take on while preparing a travel bag.

It is listed as 40 cm wide, 60 cm high, and 3 cm deep. There were two colors, brown and beige, and I chose the light beige.

When I received it, gift earrings came with it too. The design made me think of a trip to Southeast Asia.

What are the lining, zipper, and interior storage like?

The inside was fully lined with fabric rather than leaving the rough rattan directly exposed. The material inside felt soft to the touch.

There is a full zipper across the opening, and the interior is divided too, so I could separate my belongings. The zipper opened and closed smoothly. I liked that I could keep the top of the bag closed while traveling.

Is the weave sturdy, and can you see through it?

The rattan weave felt quite sturdy when I looked it over myself. It made me think I could carry it for a long time rather than use it only once or twice.

The weave was tight enough that the inside of the bag did not show through. I had wanted a rattan bag for a while, and considering both the price and the storage space, I was happy with it.

How are the size and feel for trips with lots of luggage?

I tend to pack a lot when I travel, so I liked its generously sized shape.

Fabric finishing was added where it rests on the shoulder. It did not bother my bare skin and felt soft when placed on my shoulder.

Most of all, the bag itself felt lightweight. On previous trips, I did not reach for bags that were pretty but heavy, but this one has a wide space for putting everything in at once, so I thought it would be nice to carry in a warm country.

The base had a certain amount of thickness too, and it felt large enough to hold a book.

It had a useful storage size for days when I need to bring lots of things, such as wet wipes, a wallet, and a phone charger.

Is there a pouch for storing it when not in use?

A dedicated pouch came with it, which I also liked because I can put the bag away neatly later. Looking it over ahead of my trip, what I especially liked about the Meda Bag rattan bag was its light feel and generous storage space.
