Danyang Heukmaneul Nurungji Dakgangjeong is a takeout fried chicken shop inside Gugyeong Market in Danyang, Chungbuk. After falling for it on an earlier Danyang trip, I came back with a friend, waited 25 minutes at Sunday lunchtime, and took away the double black garlic nurungji dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken with rice crust) plus a two-bottle black garlic makgeolli set for 10,000 won. If you like a strong garlic hit, the double-garlic version beats the original, and the rice-crust bits make it a great travel snack or late-night bite back at your hotel.
