The outside of Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is a modern building with floor-to-ceiling glass. It has an ANU HAIR logo and a banner standing at the entrance, so you can spot it right away even on a first visit.

Inside Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch

Head up to the 2nd floor and the reception area is the first thing you notice: a white wall with the ANU HAIR logo softly lit, and hair products displayed on the shelves.

The interior is a simple white and gray design overall. Gray styling chairs sit in a row, and natural light pours in through the wide windows, so the space feels much brighter and more pleasant.

There are little plants on the tables, and the whole place felt quiet and tidy, so I could sit comfortably. Not crowded, a relaxed atmosphere..

Why the hair consultation led to an Elizabeth perm

Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch has a separate consulting room, and there was also a precision diagnostic device for checking the scalp.

I got a C-curl perm around January and then just kept growing it out and neglecting it. Maybe because a C-curl is big and weak to begin with, it's only a little wavy at the ends.. And you can see how my hair is plastered to my skull, right? It's basically a magnet.

How does the Elizabeth perm process go at Anew Hair?

First a shampoo at the Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch shampoo station, then after checking my hair they went off to soften it. The head manager first carefully checked my hair condition and perm history, and rolled the rods from the softening stage.

Hair tends to lean in the direction it's softened, and they use that direction to guide the curls into place, they told me.

They also set the rod sizes delicately by section to suit my face shape. Rather than just rolling everything with the same size rod, I could feel the real attention to detail, so I could trust them with my hair.

During the heat step too, they kept checking the curl state and worked carefully. The conversation was fun the whole time and they answered my questions kindly, so the long session wasn't boring at all.

Bouncy curls that came out great! They're also incredibly fast, and it was done in about three hours. After neutralizing and one more shampoo, the curls looked so good right after washing that I sat there with sky-high expectations.

After the Elizabeth perm: do the curls hold when I dry it at home?

Honestly, a salon that's truly good at perms is one where your hair looks the same when you dry it yourself, not just when the stylist styles it, and even when I just roughly blow-dried it while twirling, the curls came out well.
