Junggye Gogi Party Nowon Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant located in Junggye-dong, Nowon, Seoul. Even on a weekday lunch it's busy, but there's a lunch special menu so you can eat affordably. You can enjoy tasty beef and pork along with wine, too — the perfect combination.

The menu offers a variety of beef and Iberico pork dishes. On weekdays at lunch you can get an even cheaper lunch special, so keep that in mind~ I visited because I wanted beef after a long time, and the beef set made it easy to enjoy without worrying about cost. Side dishes are self-serve at the bar, and the chilled sikhye (sweet rice drink) is a nice bonus treat :p

Premium beef set 500g: sirloin, chuck flap tail and short rib in one platter

The premium beef set comes with sirloin, chuck flap tail, and beef short rib together, so you can enjoy each cut. We grilled the chuck flap tail and short rib first, and they were really tender and melted in the mouth~

If you ask them to change the grill plate now and then, they swap it quickly. Next we grilled the sirloin, and it was clearly bigger, which made it more satisfying to grill~

Wanting a bit more meat, we ordered extra beef short rib, and after three of us ate 650g plus side dishes, we were seriously full~ You can order wine to go along with it, and with all the different sauces to dip the beef in, it never gets greasy or tiring~

Beef doenjang stew (5,000 won)

The beef doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) is packed with beef, various vegetables, and tofu, with a rich, savory flavor that's outstanding. Rice isn't included, so you'll need to order it separately, but with so much meat already, we were completely full haha. We filled up on meat and left satisfied :p

Cold naengmyeon (mul naengmyeon)

I figured a 'dessert naengmyeon' wouldn't come in a big portion, but it was actually quite generous~ If you like naengmyeon (cold noodles), you have to order it! Big portion, really delicious~

The water naengmyeon broth comes with ice floating in it, so it's refreshing and cool to enjoy. Clean and refreshing — really appealing!

Bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles)

The mixed naengmyeon also has plenty of broth, so the sauce never falls short — bursting with umami. Wrapped around beef, it's absolutely amazing :p
