Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch is a Gyodae Station BBQ place where the staff grill the meat for you, so we chose it for a meal with our child. It had been a while since we'd hung out around Gyodae Station, and there are so many great restaurants there!! I couldn't decide where we'd enjoy eating the most. But we have a kid.. so we decided on a BBQ place everyone would like!!

Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch is an easy walk from Gyodae Station, so access is great! Easy to plan a meetup~

Parking is first come, first served: 2 cars in front and 3 at the back. Parking around Gyodae is seriously tough, so it's great for people who bring a car~~ We went on a weekday evening and still got a spot, so we parked and finished dinner with no stress~~

What's the atmosphere inside Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch?

The first thing you notice is how tidy it feels, much less of that chaotic, noisy BBQ-place vibe!! The tables have decent space between them, so it was easy to talk, and the staff were quick, so the meal never stalled~~

Ventilation is good too, so our clothes didn't smell strongly after the meal, which I appreciated!! Overall it feels right for dates, friend get-togethers and even company dinners, so it's a very versatile Gyodae Station restaurant!

The menu has just 3 kinds of meat, so it's fully focused on the meat!

We ordered the Sodangkkae combo set, which has pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, plus yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) and stew~~

If you come for lunch, there are tons of really good-value options!! First of all, every set comes with a pork cutlet as standard!!! And the prices are really cheap.. the crab doenjang stew set (doenjang is fermented soybean paste) comes with a pork cutlet too, and it's ₩8,000?! In these days of high prices, that's seriously the best value~~

Basic table setting and side dishes

The table comes with basic dips like sea salt, doenjang and pickled chilies, so you can enjoy each cut differently~~ When the first spread arrives, it feels more generous than I expected. That matters more than you'd think at a BBQ place, and here the basics felt well covered!!

Scallion kimchi and scallion salad come too, and they cut the richness of the meat so cleanly that I kept reaching for them~~ The lettuce wraps were fresh and great for stuffing a big bite, and with the macaroni salad added, the whole spread felt really complete! It's not just the meat that's good; the sides are well prepared too, and that impression really stuck.

One of the biggest strengths of Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch is that the staff grill the meat for you!!! The meat looked fresh from the start, with vivid color and a good fat ratio, which got my hopes up~~ The doneness is consistent, so the taste doesn't vary and you can just eat, which I loved ㅠㅠ

The pork belly was crispy outside with the juices still inside, and the pork neck was impressively mild and tender~~ The pork jowl stayed chewy and kept me coming back, and it was fun comparing the different cuts!

The combo set's yukhoe and doenjang stew

The yukhoe in the Sodangkkae combo set isn't overly sweet and keeps the natural flavor of the beef, so even the side dishes were all really good~~ The doenjang stew that came last had enough depth to finish the meal, so I felt this BBQ place has a well-balanced lineup overall!
