Zippered rattan bag for resort trips: Meda Bag

Why did I choose a rattan bag for a resort trip?

I have mostly taken backpacking trips, so practicality always came first when choosing a bag. But while preparing for a trip to Phu Quoc, I felt I also needed a bag that would go with dresses, so I chose a rattan bag.

I had carried rattan bags in summer before, too. But one developed mold while in storage and had to be thrown away, so I needed a new bag.

What was convenient about a zippered rattan bag?

I liked the design of the rattan bags I had used before, but many of them did not have zippers. If the bag tipped over, my belongings would spill out, which could be rather alarming. This bag has a zipper, so I worried less about things falling out.

When I removed the plastic packaging, there was a dust bag inside as well. I was glad that it came with a storage pouch for the bag.

How were the texture and finish with dresses?

I thought the natural rattan texture would pair well with dresses. It felt easy to carry not only with resort outfits but with everyday clothes, too.

It felt light when carried, so it was not burdensome, and I liked the handles and the detailed finishing, too. Even without adding flashy accessories, the bag became the focal point of an outfit.

How can the roomy interior and small pocket be used?

The inner zipper was easy to open and close. Once fully unzipped, the interior opened into one wide space that was easy to pack, with room for travel essentials such as a swimsuit, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

There was also a small interior pocket. I thought it would be useful for keeping cards, cash, or a passport separate so they would not get mixed in with other items.

The structure was simple, and it also felt reasonably breathable. For me, having a zipper and a small pocket alongside the spacious storage was especially convenient.

How did it look with travel outfits when I carried it?

When I carried the bag, I already felt as though I had arrived at a resort. It had the atmosphere I had hoped for when choosing it for travel, so I was pleased.

Before going to Phu Quoc, I visited Jeju Island, and the weather was lovely. I wanted to carry this bag and take photos on the resort trips still ahead of me, too.
