Gangdong egg shop for a cheese omelet: Fresh Farmer
In short
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is an egg shop on basement level 1 of the Park Foreon shopping arcade, by Exit 2 of Dunchon-dong Station in Gangdong, Seoul, selling fertile eggs stamped with farming codes 1 and 2. Payment is by in-store kiosk, and the writer took one 10-egg pack of code-1 free-range eggs and one 10-egg pack of code-2 animal-welfare eggs from the fridge, then cooked them as boiled eggs, fried eggs, and a cheese omelet. Comparing the two yolk colors side by side was the fun part, and Fresh Farmer eggs can also be ordered by subscription.

Bringing you the Fresh Farmer eggs at Olympic Park Foreon — grade-1 and grade-2 eggs that take care of both health and taste~!
How to get to Fresh Farmer from Dunchon-dong Station
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is easy to reach — come out of Exit 2 of Dunchon-dong Station and head to the Foreon commercial building on your left! Take the escalator down to B1, check the unit number on the directory, and follow the floor map — that's the fastest way. The complex is so big and maze-like that it's easy to get lost...

The Fresh Farmer storefront and its chicken feed samples

I found the place more easily than expected, and happened to visit while the owner was there. Behind the egg samples being carefully prepared, I got a full view of the small but tidy shop.

It's tempting to think you could have patented functional eggs delivered right to your home. If you're interested, you can call to ask.

I learned that both the grade-1 eggs from hens raised in a natural environment and the grade-2 eggs from hens healthily raised in a modern facility are fed the same healthy feed. The samples laid out in front are what the 🐔 hens behind Fresh Farmer's eggs eat!

Doesn't the color alone stand out? Once you see this, you can't help but buy some...
Inside Fresh Farmer: order at the kiosk, pick up from the fridge

Right inside on the left is a kiosk for easy ordering! You can check the prices and options at a glance, which is really convenient.

After you pay at the kiosk, there's a fridge right next to it where you grab the eggs you picked! 👍 At the very bottom, they also sell tasty gim (seaweed). Since you're there, might as well grab some gim your kids will love too.

There's a description for each product, so it's worth reading up on the features before you grab one and dig in. 🙌 Knowing what kind of feed the hens ate makes it feel more trustworthy.

Fresh Farmer's eggs contain compounds said to be helpful for pregnant women and cancer patients — and it's not just their own claim, either; various patents give real credibility to Fresh Farmer.

Fresh Farmer's premium free-range eggs used to be sold only through department stores, but with the recent opening of this Dunchon-dong Foreon direct store, more people can now get their hands on them.

Can you subscribe to Fresh Farmer eggs?
It'd be great if you live in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong and can just pick some up yourself, but of course there's also a subscription service for busy office workers. Subscribing comes with a discount too, so it's a reasonable way to get healthy free-range, animal-welfare eggs delivered regularly.

I brought home one 10-pack of grade-1 free-range eggs and one 10-pack of grade-2 animal-welfare eggs! Haha, getting excited already.

There are numbers marked on the eggs so they don't get mixed up once stored together in the fridge after opening 🙂 I picked mine up on September 22, and the grade-2 eggs were laid on September 20 — whoa, that's fresh...
Looking closely at the grade-1 and grade-2 eggs, they're clearly marked with numbers! Each grade ate different feed, and interestingly, the shell colors were noticeably different too haha — had to snap a photo 📸
Boiled eggs: comparing the two yolk colors

To really taste an egg, boiled has to be the best, right? I boiled salted water hard and cooked them for 10 minutes haha.
Eating them with an apple on a weekend morning is great for fullness and protein~! 🥚🐣🥚 See the yellow yolk and the orange yolk? Yellow is the grade-1 egg, orange is the grade-2 egg! It was so interesting that the hens fed turmeric had that orange tint. It really drove home that these eggs came from hens eating healthy feed.

Good size and really crumbly, genuinely delicious. Can you see the shine on the egg white?

Fried eggs on kimchi fried rice
Next up, the eternal side dish for anyone living alone — fried eggs 🍳 I sprinkled on some coarse premium salt and fried them up in a pan! Even raw, the color difference between the two egg types was obvious.
Soft texture, really light and clean flavor. I piled them on kimchi fried rice and got my protein in properly! Fried eggs go perfectly with it!
A cheese omelet made with code-1 free-range eggs
I brought out the grade-1 eggs and whisked the yolks hard for a reason~

Looks like a croissant but it's an omelet haha. I beat three eggs together at once and made a thick, fluffy omelet 😚 When a heavy weekend breakfast feels like too much, fried eggs or an omelet with coffee hits just right.

Soft all the way through, great texture. I sliced in some cheese to make a cheese omelet, but next time I think it'd be tasty with just eggs and 🥛 milk too.

Fresh Farmer sells only fresh, healthy animal-welfare free-range eggs~! Subscriptions are available too, so give them a try 💕
