Gyeongju Korean restaurant, extra chili on chicken stew: Dongyang
Dongyang Baekban Gyeongju Hwangridan-gil Main Branch is a hanok-style Korean restaurant in the middle of Hwangridan-gil in Gyeongju. On a weekday lunch visit with her husband, the writer ordered sumi dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken, medium) for 28,000 won, a mini perilla oil yukjeon (pan-fried beef pancake) for 9,000 won, a yukhoebap (beef tartare rice bowl) for 6,000 won and plain rice for 1,500 won, and since the boneless chicken stew was not spicy, they added chili flakes from the table. For a filling Korean meal that suits almost anyone, Dongyang Baekban is a solid choice.
