Late-night chicken date at Nambu Terminal: garlic soy wings, Kkanbu

One weekend night my boyfriend and I were craving a late-night meal, and I headed straight to one place without a second thought: Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch, right outside Exit 1 of Nambu Terminal Station! It's a neighborhood chicken shop that has held the same spot for 12 years, and for me it's already a regular Nambu Terminal favorite.

There are so many chicken brands, right? Kkanbu is always in my personal top 5, haha. It's number one on my late-night list too. Today I'm leaving an honest review covering the menu, prices, parking, takeout and opening hours, so if you're looking for a late-night meal near the Seoul Arts Center, stick with me to the end!

Where do you park at Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch?

Skip the underground garage and use the surface lot right in front of the shop. The Bluepin Tower underground parking is paid at ₩9,000 per hour, which is pretty pricey. If the surface lot is full, tell the staff and they'll guide you right away, apparently.

Takeout is available too, so if you'd rather eat comfortably at home, I'd recommend that. There's also Wi-Fi and separate men's and women's restrooms.

Location and hours: how late is it open?

The address is 42 Seochojungang-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Bluepin Tower, 1st floor (units B109–111). It's exactly 42m from Nambu Terminal Station Exit 1, so you see it the moment you step off the subway. It's an easy Nambu Terminal spot if you don't have a car. It's also close to the Seoul Arts Center, so it'd be a nice stop after a show.

It's open daily from 15:00 until late. Monday to Saturday it runs until 02:00 the next day with last order at 01:20, and on Sunday until 01:00 with last order at 00:20. You can still order after 1am, which makes it a perfect late-night spot in Gangnam 💙 Reservations and group bookings are possible too.

What's the atmosphere like? Terrace, open-air pub vibes

The shop is spacious and has terrace seats, so on a cool night it's great for an open-air pub feel. Every time I come it's full of customers, and it seems to get booked for private events often too.

When I eat chicken, I like lively, bustling places more than quiet ones, and this is exactly that. But the shop is so big that it never feels chaotic. The interior is cozy like a café, so there's plenty of room for group gatherings or company dinners.

Shinsegae chairman Chung Yong-jin has been here too, so maybe the spot has good luck?? lol

• Crispy Six Pack ₩24,000 — a signature chicken made only of whole drumsticks and whole wings (one and a half chickens).
• Garlic soy boneless chicken ₩24,000 — coated in a special garlic soy sauce, with chewy rice cakes included.
• Crispy boneless chicken ₩22,000 — crunchy outside, juicy inside, the most popular item at Kkanbu.
• Crispy Curry chicken or boneless, ₩23,000 each — sprinkled with curry coconut flakes and served with coconut yogurt sauce.
• Electric-roasted chicken ₩19,000 / garlic electric-roasted chicken ₩21,000 — roasted whole in an electric oven, the light, original Kkanbu.
• Fried chicken ₩21,000 / crispy chicken ₩22,000
• Green onion boneless chicken ₩24,000

Once you sit down, puffed corn snack and pickled radish come out first.

While you pick at the corn snack, the chicken comes out quickly. It's been a while since I had this snack, and it's honestly really good haha (I couldn't stop my hand and ate half before the chicken arrived..)

The crunchy chewy corn dogs are mini size, so they're easy to pop one at a time. Sausage in a chewy batter, perfect as a side 👍

Garlic soy crunchy wings & drumsticks: OK for spice wimps?

The garlic soy crunchy wings & drumsticks are slightly spicy, but the heat is easy even for spice wimps. The main finally arrives! It's only wings and drumsticks, so there's real fun in tearing into them.

One bite and you can tell it's fried in good oil. Not greasy at all, just clean and crunchy. Sweet soy with sharp garlic on top, and with soda it just kept going down endlessly.

• Park in the surface lot in front of the shop, not underground!
• Weekend nights are busy, so reserve ahead if you're a group.
• On Sundays, last order is 00:20, an hour earlier.
• Menu prices can change, so check before you go.
