Burger date lunch in Hannam-dong, our first-date spot: Downtown Burger

Downtown Burger Hannam is a handmade burger restaurant on Daesagwan-ro 5-gil in Hannam-dong, Yongsan, Seoul. Back in Hannam-dong, where she and her husband had their first date, the writer ordered an Avocado Burger set and a Downtown Burger set for lunch and swapped one order of fries for a cup salad. Thanks to its fresh vegetables and reasonable prices, Downtown Burger Hannam is a burger spot worth returning to for a date lunch in Itaewon and Hannam-dong.

Gwanghwamun eel bowl restaurant: unagi don & maguro sushi trio, Ilpum

Ilpum Gwanghwamun (일품 광화문점) is a kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) and sushi restaurant on the second basement floor of Le Meilleur Jongno Town, between Gwanghwamun Station and Jonggak Station in Seoul. Arriving at 5:30 p.m., just as break time ended, the writer got a table with no wait and ate the unagi don (₩40,000), topped with one large whole eel, plus three kinds of maguro (tuna) sushi; chicken karaage udon and pudding also came out, making for a very filling meal. For eel lovers, Ilpum Gwanghwamun is a Japanese restaurant worth going back to even if it means waiting.
