Medium original jokbal for three near Bucheon University: Kkalkkali
In short
Kkalkkali Jokbal Bucheon Branch is a jokbal (braised pork trotters) restaurant near Exit 3 of Bucheon Station, in the Bucheon University area of Bucheon, Gyeonggi. After two hours at Joyking Sports, three friends ordered a medium original jokbal (₩38,000), a flying fish roe rice ball (₩5,000), Coke Zero and cider, and left full. The sweet-and-sour makguksu and warm bean sprout soup served with the jokbal were good enough that every bowl at Kkalkkali Jokbal came back empty.

This time I'm sharing a great spot near Bucheon University! After playing at Joyking Sports, we stopped for dinner at Kkalkkali Jokbal (깔깔이족발) near Bucheon Station. Three of us ate happily full on a medium jokbal, roe rice balls, Coke Zero and Sprite 😋😋

There were three of us, and from the jokbal menu we ordered the medium original jokbal, roe rice balls, Coke Zero and Sprite. The food comes out fairly quickly and the portions are generous 👍

Side dishes
The sides were radish kimchi, pickled onion, seasoned chives, lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, chili peppers, ssamjang (dipping paste), salted shrimp, and warm bean sprout soup. The soup was really good, and warm is definitely better than cold bean sprout soup.

Is a medium original jokbal enough for 3 people?
The medium jokbal, boiled the same day and moist, was really a lot of food, and it was so glossy it looked delicious just sitting there!!
It has a good balance of lean meat and soft skin, and eating them together just melts in your mouth~~

The meat on the bones is tender too, so picking it off is fun. Wrapping lean meat and fatty bits with a green chili on top is really delicious 👍👍 It's perfect as a drinking snack for anyone who likes alcohol, and the portion was big enough for the three of us to get full.

Roe rice ball, ₩5,000
This is the roe rice ball, filled with flying fish roe, mayonnaise and seaweed flakes. There's quite a lot of roe, so the texture is great, and the combo of jokbal + makguksu + rice ball is so good~~~

The makguksu that comes with it
This sweet-and-sour makguksu comes along when you order jokbal, topped with cucumber and carrot for a nice crunch~~ It was so good that if we hadn't been full, we'd have ordered another one. We scraped the bowl clean and left.

Verdict
Wrap jokbal and makguksu in a perilla leaf and it's heaven~~~ The perilla scent is so good you keep eating. We'd played at Joyking Sports for two whole hours and all three of us were starving, but by the time we'd nearly finished, everyone was so full and sleepy haha. The side dishes and makguksu were all delicious at this Bucheon University-area spot. Next time I'll come back to try the fried jokbal and spicy jokbal.
