Starfield Anseong Chinese restaurant: quick lunch with a kid at Chibao

Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a Chinese restaurant at the Eatopia entrance on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong in Anseong, Gyeonggi. During a shopping trip, the writer ordered a beef jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) that also came with seafood and was about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, plus a yuni-jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles with finely minced sauce) that a child who can't eat spicy food enjoyed. With fast service and reasonable prices, Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a good pick for a mall lunch with kids.

Seochon café outdoors with a friend: classic salt bread at Respire

Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon (레스피레베이커리) is a two-story salt bread bakery café on Hyoja-ro 13-gil in Seochon, Jongno, Seoul, on a side street toward Cheongwadae. During a Seochon outing, the writer and a friend sat at the outdoor seats on the building's side corner with a classic salt bread, a pollock roe potato salt bread, an iced latte and an iced Americano. The salt bread was crisp outside and soft inside, and the latte was rich rather than watery. For salt bread and coffee outdoors on a nice-weather Seochon walk, Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon is well worth a stop.

Octopus hotplate restaurant in Mukho with room-style seating: Onda

Onda Donghae Mukho Main Branch is an ocean-view seafood hotplate restaurant on Ilchul-ro in Mukho, Donghae, Gangwon. The writer arrived at a busy hour and took a room-like private spot instead of a window seat. The family ate a spicy octopus, seafood and beef belly hotplate with a child, and the hotplate was meant for 2 but easily fed 3. With high chairs and a fold-down baby bed for diaper changes, Onda Donghae Mukho Main Branch is a solid choice for a Mukho trip with kids.

Anguk tteokbokki shop: pollack roe set for two at Snack Seoul

Snack Seoul is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) snack shop on the second floor of an alley building in Palpan-dong, Jongno, Seoul, between Anguk Station and the Samcheong-dong café street. On a Samcheong-dong outing with friends, the writer ordered Snack Seoul's pollack roe tteokbokki set for two, added nurungji (scorched rice), gamtae gimbap (rice rolled in thin seaweed), fried snacks and 3 eggs, and finished every bite. Snack Seoul's clean heat, savory roe and floor-to-ceiling windows over the alley make it a strong pick for Samcheong-dong and Bukchon visitors who want something different from classic gochujang tteokbokki.

Kids travel pouch set for water play: ODDBBI Love Love Multi Bag

ODDBBI Love Love Multi Bag Set is a kids’ travel pouch and multipurpose bag set from Korea. I used the different sizes for water-play gear, preschool swimming days, children’s clothes, and as a travel carry-on bag. A pretty, sturdy set that both kids and adults can use throughout a trip.
