Nowon sushi buffet late dinner: en croûte soup, smoked duck at Kuu Kuu

Today I visited Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch (쿠우쿠우 노원점), where you can enjoy everything from sushi to all kinds of dishes and desserts in one go!! Kuu Kuu is a long-running sushi buffet brand where you can pick sushi, rolls and lots of other dishes however you like. This time I was even more excited because besides the regular menu there were new and upgraded items like raw salmon sashimi, smoked duck and lamb chops. I think it's a great spot for family meals, get-togethers with friends, or any day you want a bit of everything in one place!!

Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch? Location, hours and parking

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is on the 6th floor of the Seoul Oncheon Building at 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, and it's open 11:00-21:30 on weekdays and 11:00-22:00 on weekends. There are 2 hours of free parking in the building, but make sure you check the parking entrance at the back of the building!!

The building also has a hot spring bathhouse and a wedding hall, so ㅠㅠ I think the parking lot gets crowded with visitors on weekends and holidays. I'd recommend giving yourself plenty of time. If the building's lot is full, you may have to use a paid lot nearby.

How long can you stay at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?

The default time limit at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is 2 hours, and if guests are waiting, your meal may be limited to 1 hour 30 minutes. Kuu Kuuuuu, wow, 120 kinds of food.. It had been a while since my last visit so I was so excited, hahahaha

The buffet closing time and the food closing time can differ, so please be sure to check before you go!!

A spacious hall for group gatherings

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has over 300 pyeong of space, and I hear the private-room area fits up to 60 people and the whole place up to 200. One of its best features is how spacious and pleasant it is!! It's set up so you can eat in a bright, clean space, and the biggest plus, I think, is that it works not just for a normal meal but also as a venue for a group get-together, hahaha

200 seats, oh my... it would be great for a company dinner too, hahaha

At Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, for adults and middle and high school students, weekday lunch is ₩27,900, weekday dinner is ₩31,900, and weekends/holidays are ₩35,900. You can check other pricing on Naver Place.

Bigger flatfish and salmon sushi, plus botan shrimp sushi

I hear Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch upgraded its flatfish (gwangeo) sushi and salmon sushi with bigger cuts of fish so each bite feels fuller!! Sushi is the first thing you look forward to at a sushi buffet, right!!

One note: we went so late in the evening that the selection may look sparse. We just went way too late!!!

If you love sushi, I think the fun of picking from many kinds and enjoying the fish's flavor will appeal to you!! They also say the shrimp sushi was upgraded with botan shrimp (sweet shrimp) to bring out more of its flavor?!? Honestly, shrimp sushi in all its varieties is what I love most, hahaha

When is the Norwegian raw salmon sashimi served?

I hear the Norwegian raw salmon sashimi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is served not just at weekday dinner but also on weekends and holidays. Wow ㅠㅠ Norwegian raw salmon sashimi!! A dish you couldn't even get at the Kuu Kuu Gold branch, now at the Nowon branch. That's the best. Run there right now, haha

What is there besides sushi? From side dishes to en croûte soup

Besides sushi, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has rows of side dishes covering Korean to Japanese, like rakkyo (pickled scallions), pickles, kimchi, olives and pickled green chilies. It's a sushi buffet, but it would be a shame to eat only sushi, right?!!? There's really a huge variety of other dishes too!! Ah, I'm hungry again ㅠㅠ

I found ankurt (앙쿠르트, soup served in a bread bowl) ㅜㅜㅜㅜ I'm a total bread lover, so it's no secret it was the thing I was most excited about... hahaha There was hot soup inside, and tearing off the bread and dipping it in the soup, ah ㅜㅜㅜㅜ I could start my meal all over again

There are lots of pizzas too!!! If you're tired of sushi, you could fill up on Western food, haha. And of course there's pasta too!

New smoked duck served with white kimchi

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch also serves a smoked duck dish with a chewy texture and good flavor!! It's a good pick when you want something other than sushi or rolls!! The fat is well drained, so it's nice and clean-tasting. Even better with white kimchi (baek-kimchi), haha. Ah, such a typical Korean palate...

Steamed crab and steamed shrimp too... wow ㅜㅜㅜㅜ the quality was so good••• No need to go find the Gold branch, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has everything!! If you're planning a gathering in Nowon, Kuu Kuu is definitely the answer. It's a great spot for a family get-together, haha

I really tried one of everything!!!!! I have a kid's palate••• so I can't miss the crab stick salad..••• hahahahahaha From grilled corn to all kinds of fried food and gunkan (sushi "battleship" rolls), I couldn't skip a single one, haha

Dessert: fruit and bead ice cream, now at lunch too

The dessert corner at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has fruit, cookies and cakes. Stuffed full, and now it's dessert time, haha. The fruit was so, so good too ㅠㅠㅠㅠ so sweet I wondered if it's even allowed ㅜㅜ seriously, haha. I should have brought digestive medicine?!!?

Wow••• bead ice cream (guseul ice cream), for the first time in forever ㅠㅠㅠ At Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch it used to be served only at weekday dinner and on weekends, and I hear it has been upgraded so you can now have it at lunch too!!! The sweetness of the fruit plus the freshness of the bead ice cream, haha. Kids and adults alike, be sure to try the sweet bead ice cream!!!

Drinks and free unlimited draft beer

The drink corner at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has sikhye (sweet rice punch), plum tea, pomegranate tea, slush, soda and all kinds of herbal tea. I'm someone who needs a drink with every meal, me!!!! I'd be full on water, haha. I love this kind of variety. The only flaw is how hard it is to decide which to have, haha

Oh my ㅠㅜㅜ another feature of Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is free unlimited draft beer!!! The Nowon branch is listed as offering Terra draft beer and Kali draft beer!! (The perk is provided when you take part in a review.) Of course, it's only for ages 19 and over!!!!

What to know before you go, and the verdict

At Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, the food served can differ between weekday lunch, weekday dinner and weekends, so if there's a dish you want, I recommend checking the time slot in advance!! Kuu Kuu has won the Brand of the Year award for 7 years in a row, and the Nowon branch even won an excellent franchise award, I see ㅜㅠ No wonder, haha. The food quality was good and all the staff were friendly.

I was really impressed by how many dishes you can try, including the upgraded flatfish and salmon sushi and shrimp sushi, Norwegian raw salmon sashimi, smoked duck and lamb chops!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy lots of different foods in one place, haha. If you're looking for a spot for a family meal, a meal with friends or a group gathering, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch seems like the perfect fit!!
