For all you office workers in Gwanghwamun, here's a spot I'd recommend for lunch~

Where is Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun? Location, hours and parking
Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun (코끼리초밥) is a sushi restaurant on the B1 floor of the Gwanghwamun KT Tower (KT Building). This is where we went for sushi in Gwanghwamun this time.

- Address: B109-5, B1, 178 Sejong-daero, Jongno-gu, Seoul
- 12m from Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station (Line 5)
- Hours: daily 11:00-21:00
- Break time: 15:00-17:00
- 2 hours of free parking when you park at the Gwanghwamun KT Building

Park in the basement garage of the Gwanghwamun KT Building, take the elevator to B1, and you'll arrive at the building's restaurants,

Elephant Sushi is right across from Bobo Sikdang (보보식당) in Gwanghwamun, which I visited not long ago.

Is there a wait at Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun?
There was no wait when we went for dinner. The restaurant is open so you can see inside from outside, and I got curious whether the sushi here was any good, so I walked in.

The Gwanghwamun KT Tower is mostly office workers, so I'd guess lunch has a wait, but there was none in the evening.

We grabbed a seat quickly,

How ordering works at Elephant Sushi and what's served free
You order on a tablet at every seat, and clear soup, salad and barley tea come as standard. We browsed the sushi menu on the tablet and then ordered.

After ordering, the basic sides at Elephant Sushi are clear soup and salad,

and instead of plain water, they have barley tea ready.

The food was out within 5 minutes of ordering, so isn't this just perfect for a sushi lunch in Gwanghwamun❓

What's in the Elephant Sushi B set (28,000 won)?
The B set is a ₩28,000 sushi set that includes tuna sushi and salmon sushi. This is the set my companion ordered, and on top of the tuna and salmon sushi,

you get soba noodles for free.

How does the à la carte white fish sushi taste?
The à la carte sushi is what I ordered. I love white fish sushi, so I picked mostly white fish,

and when I ate the sushi in one bite, there was no fishy taste at all, so I cleaned out every piece 😋

Elephant Sushi fried shrimp (12,000 won)
The fried shrimp is ₩12,000. As a total fried shrimp fanatic, there was no way I wasn't ordering it!

It's freshly fried, so how could it not be delicious?

Sushi takeout for lunch in Gwanghwamun, then a Cheonggyecheon stroll
If you're looking for a KT Tower restaurant in Gwanghwamun that also does sushi takeout at lunch, I recommend Elephant Sushi,

Parking at the Gwanghwamun KT Building is pricey, so having 2 whole free hours was great, and we walked along Cheonggyecheon (the stream) to help digest.
