Hadong chicken shop: boneless fried with Akyang makgeolli at Jadam
In short
Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo is a fried chicken shop at the three-way junction by the Hwagae Market entrance in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong, Gyeongnam, where you can watch a cooking robot fry the chicken. On a Hadong trip, the writer took boneless fried chicken, Joa tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and crunch potato sticks from Jadam Chicken back to a pension for a late-night snack with Akyang makgeolli, then ate the leftover chicken with ramyeon the next morning. Crispy outside and juicy inside, with three dipping sauces plus the tteokbokki broth, Jadam Chicken's fried chicken made a satisfying night snack at a Hadong stay.

This is the Jadam Chicken fried chicken we had as a late-night snack on our Hadong trip...★ It had been ages since I last had Jadam Chicken, and it was really good!

Where is Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo, and what are the hours?
Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo is on the ground floor of the Sinhwagae Town building at the Hwagae Market entrance junction, right next to Lotte Super and Mega Coffee. It is open daily 12:00-22:00, offers both takeout and dine-in, and accepts Hadong local currency.

Using animal-welfare-certified chicken (only 6% of chicken in Korea) is the reason to choose Jadam Chicken! Every item on the menu is made with Korean ingredients, and they say even the boneless chicken uses 100% Korean chicken thigh meat.

With this cool weather, an outdoor table (yajang) is the best. Recommended as an outdoor chicken spot in Hadong!

What is the robot chef at Jadam Chicken in Hwagae Market like?
At Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo, a robot chef fries the chicken for you. I heard fewer than 10 Jadam Chicken stores nationwide have a cooking robot, and the Hwagaejangteo branch is one of them~ The robot shakes off the oil, thump thump thump, and the snap of it, hahahaha

You can eat in the shop too, but I wanted to eat at the pension while watching Netflix, so takeout it was!

Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo menu
- Chicken: fried chicken, seasoned chicken, soy garlic chicken, wings and drumsticks, hot fried chicken, Maepsoikick chicken, Maepsyulraeng chicken
- Boneless chicken: boneless chicken, seasoned boneless, soy garlic boneless, hot boneless, Maepsoikick boneless, Maepsyulraeng boneless
- Sides: crunch potato sticks, cheese balls, mozzarella sweet potato sticks, spicy gizzard fritters, dried fish fritters, Joa tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), spicy rosé tteokbokki

The Jadam Chicken robot chef was cooking at the best possible timing and temperature. You can watch the cooking process in the shop too, which is a fun bonus!

What I ordered to go at Jadam Chicken in Hwagae Market
Fried chicken, tteokbokki and fries, all packed up from Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo!

I swapped the drink to Pepsi Zero~ The owner of the Hwagaejangteo branch was really kind.

Arrived at our stay near Hwagae Market in Hadong, and we're ready for the late-night snack.

How are Jadam Chicken's sauces and pickled radish?
The fried boneless chicken came with three sauces: chicken salt, plus a seasoned sauce and a honey mustard sauce. The moment I tried the pickled radish, I thought it was different from ordinary chicken radish, and it turns out it has no vinegar essence and no saccharin! It isn't just radish, either: cucumber and carrot are mixed in, so the crunch made it even more enjoyable :)
Akyang makgeolli and fried chicken in Hadong: chimak instead of chimaek
Since this was chicken for Hadong's Akyang makgeolli, I chose fried! If you're traveling in Hadong, please try Akyang makgeolli>.<

Jadam fried chicken with Akyang makgeolli is delicious. Chimak (chicken + makgeolli) over chimaek (chicken + beer)! I had no idea chicken and makgeolli went so well together~

How Jadam Chicken's boneless fried chicken tastes, plus ramyeon the next day
Jadam Chicken's classic fried chicken...★ Noting it down. Maybe because the oil is clean, the outside felt even crispier and the inside juicier. I had a few pieces left, and the next morning I boiled mu-pama ramyeon (ramyeon with radish and green onion) and ate it with the chicken, and it was even better~

Crispy outside, juicy inside, full of juice. Jadam Chicken's boneless is Korean chicken thigh meat.

Fried chicken is best with salt! Dip it in a little salt and it's crispy, clean-tasting classic fried chicken; dip it in Jadam Chicken's seasoned sauce and it instantly turns into seasoned chicken mode; and the honey mustard is sweet and nutty, so my hand kept going back for more! My hand keeps going, keeps going, to the chicken!

Jadam Chicken sides: crunch potato sticks and Joa tteokbokki
The crunch potato sticks are crispy outside and fluffy potato inside, so having one in between bites of fried chicken is perfect! The potato sticks came with tomato ketchup, but I dipped them in the tteokbokki sauce, the seasoned sauce and the honey mustard sauce!

I'd read a lot of reviews saying Jadam Chicken's tteokbokki is good, so I definitely wanted it as a side! I agonized for a long time over the spicy rosé tteokbokki and ended up picking Joa tteokbokki! What's there to say about chicken with tteokbokki? Eating crispy fried boneless chicken and then taking a bite of sweet-spicy tteokbokki is pure happiness.

The rice cakes in Jadam Chicken's Joa tteokbokki are wheat-flour rice cakes~ They're chewy and soaked with sauce, so slurping them up was fun! It's the soupy tteokbokki style with plenty of broth, so dunking crispy fried boneless chicken deep into the tteokbokki broth is heavenly. After salt, the seasoned sauce and the honey mustard sauce, I even dipped into the Joa tteokbokki broth, and I lost count of how many flavors I enjoyed as a Hwagae Market snack in Hadong :) Noting down Jadam Chicken as my Hadong chicken shop.
