Mullae pub with mood lighting: mozzarella mentaiko monjayaki at Jojo
In short
Jojo Mullae Branch is a Japanese teppan (griddle) pub near Mullae Art Village in Mullae-dong, Seoul, serving monjayaki, okonomiyaki, yakisoba and drinks. On a weekday evening, with every table taken, the monjayaki set for two (39,500 won) brought mentaiko (spicy pollock roe) monjayaki, Jojo karai yakisoba and waterfall potato, and staff cooked the monjayaki on the griddle and topped it with mozzarella cheese. Thanks to its soft, dim lighting, Jojo Mullae Branch is a good Mullae pub for drinks with a friend or a date.

Jojo Mullae Branch exterior when the evening lights come on

Jojo Mullae Branch is easy to get to, which made visiting convenient. The exterior already feels stylish, the kind of place you'd glance at while walking past! The signature dishes are displayed in front of the shop where they're easy to see, which I think tempts customers even more, haha 🤗

Once evening came, the lights made it feel even more atmospheric 🍀 The entrance is neatly kept, so the first impression was good too 😊
Inside Jojo Mullae Branch: atmosphere and seating
The inside of Jojo Mullae Branch is cozy yet refined. The soft lighting and stylish interior made it comfortable to stay, and the tables are spaced just right for conversation 👍🏻 It works for get-togethers with friends, and it's relaxed enough for couples too 💕
The staff were friendly, which made the meal even more pleasant. And even though it was a weekday, it was completely full when I visited.. so I snapped these quickly on my way out after finishing! ⭐️

This is the basic setting! Small plates, napkins, cups and chopsticks are neatly laid out, and there's a big griddle in the middle of the table, haha. There's also radish pickles to go with the food and a variety of sauces! ☺️
What's on the menu at Jojo Mullae Branch?

Jojo Mullae Branch sells set menus, okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), monjayaki (runny griddle batter dish), yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) and other snacks, plus alcohol 🍀 The choice is so wide 😍 that just reading the menu takes ages, haha. Everyone can order to their own taste ☺️
What's in the monjayaki set for two (₩39,500)
The monjayaki set for two I ordered is ₩39,500 and includes monjayaki, yakisoba and waterfall potato, a great-value set ☺️ Out of all the menu items, I picked monjayaki, which I'd been so curious about lately!! Both the monjayaki and the yakisoba can be chosen in the flavor you want?! I went with mentaiko (spicy pollock roe) monjayaki and Jojo karai (spicy) yakisoba 🕺🏻

After you order, a staff member brings paper and a pen like this! If you write your nickname on it, they stick a cute pick with it into your monjayaki, haha 👍🏻
How is the mentaiko monjayaki made on the griddle?
At Jojo Mullae Branch, a staff member makes the mentaiko monjayaki for you right on the table griddle. The ingredients come out first, with plenty of mentaiko in the middle, and bonito flakes and lots of other ingredients generously piled in, haha

This is the mozzarella cheese that came with the monjayaki! They sprinkle it on top at the end, and it was so rich and tasty 💗
They spread the batter out on the griddle like this and start making it properly, haha 😍 Already looks delicious, right!? As they mix it with the mentaiko, the monjayaki gradually takes shape!! 🫨 When it's done, they press it out thin like this! Then they sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, haha

Then they set a timer like this! When the timer goes off, you come back and start eating from the edges, they told us ☺️

How the finished mentaiko monjayaki tastes
The finished mentaiko monjayaki! 💗 It felt like a must-order if you come to Jojo. The salty umami of the mentaiko and the nutty richness of monjayaki blended really well.

Eating it warm off the griddle, you get crispy bits and moist bits together, which made it even more appealing. It also goes really well with drinks ✨

Jojo karai yakisoba: taste and ingredients
The second item in the set, Jojo karai yakisoba, had springy noodles evenly coated in a sweet-salty sauce 🍜 A subtle smoky wok flavor added depth, and it was addictive, the kind where your chopsticks keep going back for more 😋
Inside, it's packed with seafood like shrimp and squid, plus meat and lots of cabbage! And a fried egg on top makes it perfect, haha 🍳 It's loaded with ingredients like this! The shrimp were really springy, and the tender meat went so well with the yakisoba 🍜

What is waterfall potato?
Jojo Mullae Branch's waterfall potato (폭포테이토) is a potato salad topped with a soft-cooked egg and garlic flakes 🥔 The garlic flakes made it savory and full of umami 👍🏻
Looks so good, right?•• 💗 The softly mashed potato was full of rich flavor. The creamy texture made it easy to eat, and the bits you chew here and there added texture so I never got tired of it. It pairs well with salty side dishes!

Eat the egg, the salad and the garlic flakes together like this and it tastes fantastic, haha. Highly recommended! 🫶🏻

Lastly, Jojo Mullae Branch has a Naver receipt review event, so join in and get a free drink!! 💗
Overall verdict on Jojo Mullae Branch
If you're looking for a nice pub in Mullae, I recommend Jojo Mullae Branch ✨ I was happy with all of it: the stylish Japanese-style atmosphere, the tasty food and the friendly service! The mentaiko monjayaki especially felt special thanks to the fun of cooking it on the griddle yourself, and the yakisoba and waterfall potato combo let us enjoy a variety of flavors 😋
It's good for a casual drink with friends and fits a date too, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a pub or good eats in Mullae 💕 If you don't want to miss out on either flavor or atmosphere, give it a visit :)😍
