Sensitive-skin cleansing balm: HEEDA Jirisan Charcoal Balm

How did it feel on sensitive combination skin?

I usually use cleansing water, so this was my first time trying a cleansing balm. My skin is sensitive, thin, and combination, so I pay attention to both irritation and how my skin feels after cleansing when choosing a cleanser.

It was a firm balm when I first scooped it out, but it melted softly with the warmth of my fingertips and rolled on like an oil. The black texture felt unfamiliar at first, but as I used it, I felt it suited my skin without causing strain.

What was it like to roll it around my nose and chin?

I gently rolled it around the sides of my nose and chin as if massaging. The more I rolled, the more I could feel what seemed like sebum coming out at my fingertips, and it felt as though the area around my nose and my blackheads were being cleared up.

My makeup also tended to melt away as I rolled it in. The next day, my makeup seemed to pill less than before.

Did it leave tightness or residue after cleansing?

I had previously experienced breakouts after using oily cleansing balms, but this product felt as though it rinsed away cleanly with almost no residue. In my case, I did not feel like it caused breakouts either.

I dislike the tight feeling in my face after cleansing in dry weather, but after using this, my skin felt less tight and had a moisturized finish. For people with dry or dehydrated-oily skin who worry about dryness after cleansing, this may be a useful texture to keep in mind.

Was there anything disappointing about using it?

When I first used it, I was briefly unsure whether the texture melting black was normal. Still, the rolling feel and the finish after cleansing worked well for my skin.
