Dongtan Station pho restaurant for a hangover, early lunch: Mibundang

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is a pho restaurant on the first floor of Dongtan Station Richian Arcade in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. The morning after drinking, the writer and a friend walked into an early lunch with no wait, sat at the bar table and ordered the brisket pho (yangji-ssalguksu). The clean, non-greasy broth eased the hangover, and stirring in the spicy sauce halfway through kept the bowl interesting to the last drop. Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is a good pick near Dongtan Station when you need a clear hangover broth, ideally before 11:30.

Dongtan Station shabu-shabu work lunch, full by noon: Pyeonbaek

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch is a cypress-steam and shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat restaurant on the 2nd floor of Granvia Star at Dongtan Station in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. Two of us walked in at 11:30 am on a weekday and ordered the Weekday Lunch set (cypress steam + shabu-shabu + unlimited refills, 16,900 won), and by noon Pyeonbaek Hoegwan was completely full. Too full for kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), we finished with porridge and a misugaru (roasted grain) slush, and I'd go back 100%.
