Dongtan Station pho restaurant for a hangover, early lunch: Mibundang
In short
Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is a pho restaurant on the first floor of Dongtan Station Richian Arcade in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. The morning after drinking, the writer and a friend walked into an early lunch with no wait, sat at the bar table and ordered the brisket pho (yangji-ssalguksu). The clean, non-greasy broth eased the hangover, and stirring in the spicy sauce halfway through kept the bowl interesting to the last drop. Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is a good pick near Dongtan Station when you need a clear hangover broth, ideally before 11:30.

I finally had a few drinks the night before, and by morning my stomach was sending me signals. Clutching my pounding head, I shouted inside, "Today's lunch is definitely a clean, warm soup!"
My friend happened to be craving hot broth too, so we agreed to meet at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch, a place long known by word of mouth as a go-to Dongtan pho spot. Spoiler: my stomach felt so refreshed that the leftover booze seemed to drain right away. I was really happy with this meal!
When to go to Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch to avoid the wait
If you go a little early for lunch, you can get in without a wait. By the time we finished and came out, a long line had formed in front of the shop. I had hurried over in case I'd have to queue, and it turned out to be a really excellent choice!
When we walked in, there was still room, so we sat straight down at a bar table with no wait. After I wolfed down the delicious pho and came out, the line was already long. Popular, as you'd expect from a leading pho spot near Dongtan Station.

Parasols and cool drinks for guests waiting at Mibundang
Mibundang keeps parasols and drinks ready for people waiting. The owner's thoughtfulness really stood out. The parasols are there for when the sun is harsh or the weather turns moody, and there are even cool drinks to wet your throat while you wait.

It's a small difference, but I could feel a warm heart that genuinely thinks about every single guest, and my heart went all fluffy before I even ate.
What is Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch like inside? Atmosphere and cleanliness
The moment I opened the door, my impression was "wow, this place is tidy and clean." Even with lots of customers, empty bowls were cleared away in an instant.

Even though it's a bar-style layout with the kitchen in plain view, there was no grease or dust on the kitchen equipment or tables; everything was impeccably kept. The hygiene was so good that I could eat with confidence. The staff were really kind too.

The service isn't excessive or overbearing; staff step in at just the right moment with a bright, warm smile, so it's a very comfortable place to eat alone or quietly with a friend.
Mibundang brisket pho for a hangover: how was the broth?
I didn't even hesitate and ordered the signature brisket pho. The clear, mild broth was perfect for a hangover.

When the bowl arrived, generously piled with brisket and a broth that looked clear and deep, my mouth watered. I took a big first sip of the broth... and "Ah, I'm alive!" came out on its own.
- Deep, mild broth: It's clean with no greasiness, yet the deep savory richness of a meat broth wraps your stomach in warmth. It felt like the previous night's hangover cleared in one go. If you want a soup dish for a hangover among Dongtan restaurants, this is the top pick.
- Tender brisket and noodles: The brisket tore apart along the grain and wasn't dry at all, just soft and tender, and the broth had soaked into the noodles too, so I slurped on and on endlessly.
Does Mibundang have spicy pho? How to use the spicy sauce
The basic menu at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch doesn't have a separate "spicy pho" category. But there's chili sauce and spicy sauce on the table, so people who like a kick have nothing to be disappointed about.

Just use the chili sauce and spicy sauce at the front of the table! You can put some sauce in a small dish and dip the noodles and brisket lightly, or stir the sauce into the broth for a spicier, different kind of charm.
I enjoyed about half the bowl with the mild broth as it was, then added a little spicy sauce to the rest. The broth turned just right, tangy and spicy, and I drained it down to the last drop.
