Lightweight summer vacation rattan bag: Meda Bag

Is this a good rattan bag to carry on a summer vacation?

With summer vacations and overseas trips in mind, I tried the Meda Bag rattan bag ahead of time. The rattan material gives it a vacation feel, so I thought it would work nicely for trips to warm countries or summer outfits.

Even in winter like now, it seemed worth packing in advance if you are planning a getaway somewhere warm, such as Thailand, Vietnam, or Bali. I do not think I would need to worry separately about what bag to style at my destination.

How light is it, and how much does it hold?

When I carried it, the bag itself felt light, so it did not put much strain on my shoulder even on days with lots of walking and moving around.

It had more storage space than it looked like it would. I fit in a phone, wallet, pouch, sunglasses case, small parasol, and even a bottle of water.

How were the rattan finish and outfit styling?

The weave felt tight and the surface smooth. I was worried the rough texture typical of rattan might damage clothing, but within the range I used it, the finish felt comfortable.

Paired with a white linen dress or maxi dress, it created a vacation mood. With a short-sleeved T-shirt, denim shorts, and sandals, it suited an understated everyday summer look.

Because it is lightweight, it did not feel burdensome to pack in a suitcase. I would also like to use it when taking photos at the beach or a café while traveling. Until my trip, I plan to keep it around the house as a decorative accessory.
