Jongno café for good coffee after a lunch walk: Oldsse Seochon

I recently had lunch in Jongno and was strolling around Seochon when I stumbled on a café with real hanok (traditional Korean house) charm — had to stop in!

I've been into hanok cafés lately and seek them out fairly often, and the exterior alone was so much my style 🤍

The space blends so well with Seochon's quiet, old-town feel that it caught my eye even just walking by — a great Seochon café to rest at near Gyeongbokgung! And the coffee was actually good, which made it even better. If you like coffee with some acidity, this one's worth a visit ☕️

Finding the Seochon alley after seeing Gyeongbokgung

Oldsse Seochon sits in a spot with that distinct Seochon alley charm! Walking around, the cute little shops and quiet atmosphere are really appealing, and the café fit right in with that vibe~!

So it seemed like a great stop after checking out Gyeongbokgung, and also solid as a Seochon date spot! I noticed plenty of customers who looked like locals, not just tourists 🤍

What does the inside of Oldsse Seochon look like?

The exterior already had that charm, but the inside was so clean too! The wood-toned interior paired with soft lighting created a really calm atmosphere!

It didn't feel like a loud franchise café at all — more a place to relax and take your time, which I loved even more ⭐️ Seemed great for reading or working solo, and also a good vibe for chatting with a friend~

How acidic is the iced americano?

Here's the iced americano we ordered -! The first sip told me right away it was exactly the kind of acidity I like! Strong acidity can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Oldsse Seochon's coffee was clean and bright, so I could enjoy it without any pressure 🩵

It was refreshing to drink even in hot weather, and the clean finish kept me reaching for more! If you usually like beans with some acidity, I think you'd be satisfied!

I'm personally the type to revisit a café because of the coffee, and Oldsse Seochon's coffee was good enough to make me want to come back!

These days there are plenty of cafés with pretty interiors alone, but this one felt like it nailed both the atmosphere and the coffee! So I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Jongno café, or a Seochon café with genuinely good coffee..💕

Is there a restroom inside Oldsse Seochon?

The restroom being inside the store made it convenient to use, and the moment I walked in there was a lovely scent! It might be a small detail, but it gave the sense that the whole place is kept clean with care 🤍
