What is Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch like?
Myeon Sikdang (면식당) Godeok Station Branch is a Japanese restaurant near Godeok Station that sells tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), soba, ramen and rice bowls all in one place. I wanted some good tonkatsu near Godeok Station, so I stopped by.

The menu is really varied, from tonkatsu to soba, ramen and rice bowls, so it's a great place to go when you can't decide what to eat.

Best of all, once I actually ate there, the prices weren't heavy but the food came out quite generously, and I liked that~~^^ I saw people eating alone and lots of students, and there was a steady stream of takeout customers too, so it felt like a handy spot for a quick meal nearby. A tonkatsu place worth knowing near Godeok Station.
Want tonkatsu and noodles together, on a budget? Myeon Sikdang Godeok Branch.
How was the soba and sirloin katsu set?

The first thing I ordered at Myeon Sikdang that day was the set that comes with both soba (buckwheat noodles) and sirloin katsu.

Tonkatsu on its own can feel a bit heavy and one-note, so I liked that the set comes with soba too.

I started with the crispy, nutty sirloin katsu, then added the cold soba, and my mouth felt really clean, haha. The soba noodles are thin, nutty and really good!

The katsu coating was crisp while the meat inside was tender and rich, so I really enjoyed it.

Katsu sauces and side dishes
The sirloin katsu is good dipped in sauce, but depending on your taste it's also nice with salt, wasabi or hot chili powder. ^^ It comes with pickles (jangajji) and a salad, and the side dishes were all clean and fresh.

There are two sauces, regular and spicy, so I alternated and never got tired of it, haha.
Four potato croquettes for ₩3,000: worth it?

The potato croquettes are 4 pieces for ₩3,000. I ordered them as a side with the tonkatsu, and the price is really kind! The inside is super, super soft potato. They tasted homemade, and maybe because the oil was clean they weren't greasy at all, and you could really feel the fluffy potato texture.

The croquettes come with chili sauce, which was a good match too, haha. The softness of potato is a different thing from the sirloin katsu, so they were nice to nibble on between bites.
Cheese katsu for cheese lovers

Unlike the regular sirloin katsu, the cheese katsu adds cheese, so the richness is definitely up!!!

The cheese stretches so much!! And there's plenty of it~

No disappointment here, haha. The crunchy coating and the chewy, soft cheese came together for a slightly deeper flavor. Personally, I think the cheese katsu was the main star of the day, hehe.
What is the atmosphere like for solo dining and takeout?
Myeon Sikdang felt comfortable even for eating alone. ^^ It suited an easy meal near Godeok Station.

Takeout is available too, and quite a few customers stopped by on the way home to buy dinner. There's a school nearby, so at mealtime I also saw students arriving in small groups to eat~~

Self-bar broth and kimchi
The self-bar at Myeon Sikdang has broth and kimchi like this, and I liked that the tempura crumb topping and the broth were clean and easy to help yourself to.^^

Parking and location
You can park in the building, and basement level 3 is the shop parking lot, so keep that in mind. It's a somewhat older building so parking wasn't exactly easy, but there were plenty of spaces to park in!
