Dongtan chicken restaurant with fried whole shrimp: Fix Chicken

You know those days, right? When you are just dying for chicken and beer! This was one of those days, so I went looking for a chicken place and found this one! The place I visited is Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch (픽스치킨 동탄센트럴파크점).

Where is Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch, and where do you park?

Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch is not very far from Dongtan Central Park, so it seemed like an easy walk after a stroll in the park! You can park in front of the shop, so we just drove there, no hassle.

Is it a good chicken place for a team dinner in Dongtan?

The inside of Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch was really clean, with lots of tables! There were plenty of large tables, so it seemed great for team dinners. Whenever there is a company dinner or group outing, deciding where to go is always a headache, so a place with proper group seating is wonderful.

There is also a big screen, so it looks like a nice spot to cheer on a game during soccer or baseball season. In fact, people were watching a baseball game that day! I thought, I have to come here when Korea plays soccer :)

What is on the Fix Chicken menu besides chicken?

Fix Chicken has everything from golbaengi-muchim (spicy sea snail salad) to french fries, shrimp fry, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and even soups. A chicken place does not mean chicken only! The menu is seriously huge, so it is just right for a team dinner! The main item seems to be the oven-cooked Fix chicken.

Personally, I think original and seasoned are the best chicken flavors, so I ordered the basic half fried, half seasoned! I have my own philosophy: if a place does its plain fried chicken and basic seasoning well, everything else on the menu will be good too! It's funny, but it's kind of my own little chicken test.

The free tteokbokki

At Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch, they gave us puffed rice snack (ppeongtwigi) and tteokbokki as free starter snacks (?)! The tteokbokki was moderately spicy and sweet, a bit like the old-school kind sold at traditional markets. First, I was very disappointed in myself for not ordering tteokbokki.. I bet it goes so well with chicken.

Is Fix Chicken's half-and-half boneless chicken greasy?

From the very first bite of the half-and-half boneless chicken at Fix Chicken, I thought, 'Huh, this chicken isn't greasy?' My disappointment (about the tteokbokki) did not last long, because the big moment arrived: the chicken. I ordered boneless this time to make it easy to eat!

I love chicken, but after a few pieces it gets greasy and you reach for beer.. but Fix Chicken had no greasiness at all! It's the kind of taste you never get tired of, no matter how much you eat. Maybe because it isn't greasy, I did not even crave beer that much.. so strange. I looked it up, and apparently it is not greasy thanks to Fix Chicken's own cooking method, a roast-and-fry technique that drains off the oil before frying.

The boneless chicken was not dry either, just super tender and delicious! It was exactly like the boneless drumstick meat I love haha

Three sauces and a curry-flavored mustard

Fix Chicken serves three sauces, the basic chicken seasoning sauce, salt, and mustard, so you can dip to your own taste. But that mustard was not regular mustard; it tasted like it had a little curry mixed in. It was a surprising and tasty flavor haha

A salad comes out too. Toss it together and eat it with the chicken, and it is a perfect match.

Is Fix Chicken's whole-shrimp fry worth ordering?

Please order the whole-shrimp fry at Fix Chicken! We got it with the chicken that day, and the shrimp were plump and sat on a bed of french fries, which I loved :)

There really was a plump whole shrimp inside! The outside was crispy, and it crunched when I cut it~ Dipped in the chicken sauce that comes with it, it is just... the shrimp flavor really comes through and it is so good.

Would I go back to Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch?

It was so delicious, and I totally get why it is called "PICKS"! It had been a while since I'd had chicken, and I loved that it was not greasy and I could finish it all. Like chicken but hate the greasy feeling? Definitely visit. I will come back the next time I need a team dinner or group meal nearby~
