Where is Domo Sushi, the sushi spot near Pohang City Hall?

Domo Sushi (도모스시) is a sushi restaurant in Idong, Nam-gu, near Pohang City Hall, and it's one of the top 3 places in Nam-gu people count on for tasty sushi. Today I've dragged along that Idong spot, Domo Sushi 😇

Honestly, this day I could call it the number 1. It was really, really delicious, haha. You can park right in front of the restaurant.

• Hours: daily 11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (closed every Monday)
• Parking: dedicated lot in front of the restaurant

Proof of a regular: eating here every year since 2021

Before I introduce Domo Sushi, I want to show proof that I've eaten here with my own money ^^ I've been coming since 2021, hahaha. Wow.

2023, haha. I really have eaten here every year. There are a few more times I ate without taking photos, though... It was already a favorite of mine, so I'm so happy to get the chance to revisit 😊💗

Does Domo Sushi have private rooms?

Inside Domo Sushi it's all private rooms, so it's great for eating while chatting quietly and privately.

The interior is comfortable and classy, haha.

They set the table with cutlery!! The chopsticks and spoon come sealed in a pack like that, which is hygienic and I love it! The wet wipes are thick too, ha.

Domo Sushi menu and drinks

The Domo Sushi menu has assorted sushi sets of 10 pieces, plus a long list of single-piece sushi you can pick one by one. Wild-caught sushi, flower shrimp sushi, bluefin tuna belly sushi and more, so you can choose just what you want!!!🤩

Drinks too: draft beer, highballs, whisky, sake, they have everything~

They sell tuna sashimi and other sashimi separately, and once you try the sushi you'll see why. Fresh and really!!! delicious!!!!

What side dishes (tsukedashi) come at Domo Sushi?

Domo Sushi really does serve a ton of basic side dishes (tsukedashi)!! Have you ever seen a sushi place give this many sides.. haha. Even for delivery or takeout, they pack all these sides in!!!

By the way, I personally love Domo Sushi's tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) so much. Slightly spicy, and as a dessert after sushi it's heaven 😮〰️🌟

A place where tuna sashimi salad comes as a side dish??!!! The sweet-and-sour gochujang sauce wakes up your appetite, and the soy-marinated crab adds umami, hahaha. There's so much to eat!!!

The croquette and corn cheese are the knockouts!! The best ones, haha. I scraped them clean🫢🫶🏻

The soba (buckwheat noodles) was tasty too, haha. Soba in summer! Udon in winter! That's what they serve, T_T so thoughtful, haha.

And finally beef tartare (yukhoe)... Isn't this a sushi buffet?????? The peppery flavor makes it a perfect appetizer 😁

Special 10-piece assorted sushi: portion and taste

Finally!!!!!! The sushi is here. The special assorted sushi (teuk domomo modeum chobap)!!!

Even just by eye, the fish looks so, so, so good, right? The special assorted sushi is 10 pieces, and when you finish it you're really full. Every single piece is substantial. The table is about to collapse~~~~~ no joke.

The fish is really thick, and the rice has just the right stickiness and just the right looseness @!@ When you eat the sushi you can really feel each piece was made with care, seriously.

Salmon sushi, flatfish fin and flower shrimp sushi

Salmon sushi!!! The color is insane!!!!!!! Total salmon flavor!!! Dab a little wasabi on it and the balance is great.

Fish no. 2, hahaha. The flatfish fin was really delicious too, but huh, it's already gone into my mouth < ^0^!

Flower shrimp sushi.. richness itself. So, so rich~~ and delicious 🥹🥹🥹

Hon-maguro tuna belly sushi that won over a tuna skeptic

And now the grand finale, tuna belly sushi!!!!! Hon-maguro (bluefin tuna)!!!!

Everyone... I actually don't like tuna, okay? But really 🤨 it's really so good!!???? I've been to Japan twice and this is better than the tuna I had there. It felt like eating top-grade Korean beef (not exaggerating, really). Truly nutty and rich, oil everywhere, and the more you chew the more nutty~~~ it gets.

People of Pohang.. tourists visiting Pohang.. please, please try Domo Sushi's tuna belly sushi ❤️ The quality is the best.

Even the eel sushi, which I didn't expect much from

Honestly I never expect much from the eel in assorted sushi, but huh?????? It was so good I'd call it the best after the tuna. Eel is a certified delicious, too!!

Fifth visit to Domo Sushi: overall verdict

I think the new plates are even better, boss..💗 I really enjoyed everything. My friend and I were totally satisfied!!!! I hope you keep running for a long time.. 👍🏻‼️

Words like "good value" don't fit here; it's simply a place where the sushi quality is the best!!
