I stopped by Lotte Department Store at Sinjung-dong Station not long ago and was craving meat so badly that I searched for BBQ places nearby like crazy!! And I found one with insane value for money. Soju and beer are both ₩1,500, and corkage is free too *_* This is Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch (고기굽는방앗간 신중동역점), a Bucheon samgyeopsal (pork belly) favorite.

Where is Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan, and is parking free on weekends?

Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch is a meat restaurant near Lotte Department Store in Sinjung-dong. If you're coming by car, use the public street parking lot right in front or the underground public parking lot. The restaurant can't help with parking, but the street lot is free on weekends, so grab a spot quickly if there's one, and if not, I recommend the underground public lot!!

First customer at weekend opening, with a park-view window seat

I visited right at weekend opening and walked in as the first customer, and around the time we finished eating, people kept streaming in. Still, the place is spacious, so even big groups can come in without trouble haha The window side faces a park right outside, so the view is nice and green ♪

Window seats overlooking the park and the spacious dining hall

As soon as we sat down, they set up the charcoal along with the basic side dishes. If you need more sides, you can get more from the self-serve bar.

This is Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan's signature sauce, and it was so good! The meat just disappears!!

What's at the Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan self-serve bar?

The self-serve bar has ssam vegetables (leaves for wrapping meat), shredded scallion salad, macaroni corn salad and more, so take as much as you can eat. It's been so long since I've seen macaroni at a place like this, so happy ღ

₩1,500 soju and beer, plus free corkage

And now the most important part. Drinks are a whole ₩1,500!!! Soju and beer are both ₩1,500, and imported beer is ₩2,500. Isn't that crazy..? I've never seen a price like this..ㅠㅠㅠ Because the prices are so low, you grab your drinks yourself and pay for everything at once when you leave.

Maybe because they've given up on making any margin on alcohol, corkage is free too. You can comfortably drink whatever you bring, which is great!! I heard they give a free drink if you write a Naver receipt review, so be sure to join in and enjoy a cold drink haha

Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan menu and prices: ₩16,000 for 300g

The drinks are super cheap, right? So is the meat expensive then?! Nope.. the value is great.. Here, both pork belly and pork neck come in 300g servings. That's a ton of meat for ₩16,000, which is really good.

Naengmyeon (cold noodles) and doenjang-jjigae have separate options to leave out cucumber or Cheongyang chili, so you can choose to your taste. There's even self-serve ramen and rice balls, what a thoughtful touch haha

Ponzu sauce and beondegi (silkworm pupae) aren't at the self-serve bar, so you order them extra on the kiosk. They're free, so you can order without any guilt!! Wahaha

Bangatgan A Set for ₩57,000: just right for 4 adults

So what I ordered was the Bangatgan A Set.

Recommended menu Bangatgan A Set ₩57,000 Doenjang-jjigae ₩4,000

It's 1kg of meat plus 50g of smoked makchang (beef intestine), 1.05kg in total. And it's only ₩57,000!!! The price is great, right?? The meat quality was good too, which surprised me. It's 400g pork belly + 400g pork neck + 200g hangjeongsal (pork jowl) + 50g smoked makchang, and it's just right for 4 adults.

Doenjang-jjigae cooked on its own separate burner

There's a separate burner for the doenjang-jjigae, so you can boil it at the same time as the meat. It stays hot to the very end, which is amazing as drinking food.. It also has 4 big pieces of tofu, so it's a must-order along with the meat.

The pork neck was thick and good too, and maybe because it's grilled over charcoal, it tasted even better. As a garlic lover, I grilled and ate a whole bunch of garlic with it..haha

Pork belly grilled over charcoal with minari, mushrooms and garlic

The set also comes with minari (water dropwort) and mushrooms, so grill them together with the pork belly and it's delicious!! The meat was fresh, chewy and tasty haha If you're looking for a BBQ place or a drinking spot near Sinjung-dong Station, you absolutely have to come here. A overwhelmingly great-value spot with soju and beer at ₩1,500. I recommend Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch, a Bucheon samgyeopsal favorite.
