Everybody knows Jjamppong Jijon (짬뽕지존), right?... hahaha. I've been going ever since my last job whenever a Chinese food craving hits! And there's one between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station too?? As the self-appointed sheriff of Gangnam-gu, I couldn't not go. Heh.
When is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch less crowded?
Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is a Chinese restaurant that's totally packed with Yeoksam office workers at lunchtime. So this time I tried something new and headed out for an after-work dinner feast. Heh.

Oh my? You can make reservations too, even better haha.

Go up the stairs to the 2nd floor and there's even a terrace like this!! You can stare at the sky for a bit after your meal. While sipping coffee... you know those days... when you really don't wanna go back to the office... those days.. (every day)

They have baby chairs too? Anyway, Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is super spacious, so it's a good place to come when you're worried about waiting in line.
Is Jjamppong Jijon good for a group dinner near Yeoksam Station?
Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is roomy and pleasant, which makes it a good Chinese restaurant near Yeoksam Station for groups. There's a kiosk at every table, which is honestly so convenient, and you can pay either prepaid or after the meal. Hehe.

Coming in the later evening was just right. (My boyfriend's voice is quiet.. haha so when it's crowded I can't hear him, lol)

The sofa seat is obviously mine! Hehe. At Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch the water comes in bottles and the pickled radish is served like that, so it feels really hygienic. Every table is stocked with pepper, soy sauce, chili flakes and more!!!
I didn't take a photo of the menu, hehe. Personally, true to the name, the jjamppong is sooo delicious!!!!!!!! And if I compromise, the jjamjjamyeon (half jjamppong, half jajangmyeon)!!! You can enjoy lots of jjamppong variations like sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), soft tofu and rice noodle jjamppong?? +_+

Self-serve bar and unlimited rice: skip the jjamppong rice
At the Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch self-bar you can grab more kimchi, onion, zha cai (pickled mustard stem) and so on! And the great thing here is that the rice is unlimited!! So.. anyone who orders jjamppong-bap (jjamppong with rice) is a fool. Pro tip. (I did order it once)

Disposable aprons and drinks are all ready too haha. Jjamppong Jijon always seems to take care of dessert too;; The branch I visited before had ice cream, and I scooped it up like crazy.

A tip for the pickled radish brine
Let me share a tip. Take out a paper cup and pour the pickled radish juice into it!!!! Otherwise you always spill it lol (see my boyfriend's tissue? hahaha). If you accidentally drink that, it's d.e.a.t.h.

Love that there are wet wipes at every table;;; The restroom is inside the restaurant too and nice and clean, hehe.
Rice noodle jjamppong and jjamjjamyeon: prices and taste
That day at Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch I got the rice noodle jjamppong (₩13,000), my boyfriend got the jjamjjamyeon (₩14,000), and we also went all in on the glutinous sweet-and-sour pork, tangsuyuk (₩20,000)!!

Our food is finally here!!!!!! Ah I'm hungry;; The rice noodle jjamppong really has rice noodles instead of the usual thick wheat noodles, so it's recommended for anyone who finds noodles too heavy!!! Look at that shine, wow T_T Ah I'm hungry, maybe I'll eat Chinese for lunch today

Oh, but then my boyfriend winked and... lol Saero (a soju brand) showed up.... lol What do we do, alcoholic couple??? haha At Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch you can also choose the jjamppong spice level, so it covers everyone from beginners to spice masters!!!
Glutinous rice tangsuyuk and two bottles of soju on a Monday date
The glutinous tangsuyuk (₩20,000) at Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch tastes even better if you mix soy sauce, vinegar and chili flakes for dipping? Maybe because the oil is clean, the batter was pale and tasted super fresh, just right lol.

I opened my eyes and Saero was down to two bottles lol. You all already know Chinese food and booze go sooo well together, right???? hahaha It cuts right through the grease, and very very.. I wanted Yantai or Erguotou (Chinese liquors) too;; but it was Monday so I held back;;;

When I came to, our table was licked clean... ah, the Monday blues were cured instantly hahaha.

On the way out: toothpicks, candy and battery chargers
On the way out Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch has toothpicks and candy too! Pick the chili flakes out of your teeth in the mirror lol. But what's that "renew" thing over there?

There are tons of battery chargers too!!!!!! Office workers are busy and often run out of battery, so charging during your meal seems perfect haha.

It was so tasty that I ate waaay too much;;; so I went to the playground to exercise before heading home hahaha. Save Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch, which covers both lunch and dinner, and definitely go!!! You won't regret it hahaha. It's the best choice especially when you're wondering where to go as a group!!!!!!
