What kind of makguksu restaurant is Seonbawi Memil Jangteo in Yangjae?
Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch (선바위메밀장터 양재점) is already famous among makguksu fans near Yangjaesiminuisup Station. I went there for lunch this time.

Proper 100% buckwheat noodles, nutty perilla oil, sweet-spicy pollack hoe (seasoned raw fish) and tender suyuk (boiled pork)! I had a happy lunch at this perfect Yangjae Citizens' Forest spot.

Parking at Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae: how to park a sedan
There is parking in front of the building, so it was easy to come by car. But for a low-bodied car like a sedan, I recommend parking slowly and pulling out slowly, easing down.
You can feel the restaurant's pride from the big "100% buckwheat" sign across the front of the building. My car sits especially low, so I pay attention to that kind of thing.

What is the atmosphere inside?
Inside, the restaurant was really spacious and clean! The tables are well spaced and comfortable, so it's a great fit for a family meal or for friends or a date.

What we ordered at Memil Jangteo
There were various chicken dishes and soba too, but today's goal was makguksu, of course! Noodles from 100% buckwheat, kneaded the moment you order? My expectations were exploding before I even ate. We ordered mostly the best-selling items.
- Perilla oil makguksu
- Pollack hoe makguksu
- Pollack hoe suyuk
At last everything we ordered was set out! It came neatly in brass bowls, so I felt treated like a guest, and my mouth was watering just from the look of it. Seonbawi Memil Jangteo is a flavor I already know~~ the Gwacheon Seonbawi main branch is a famous place, after all.
The signature perilla oil makguksu: how does it taste?
Perilla oil makguksu is the restaurant's signature. Sesame powder comes piled on the noodles like a bomb!
Toss it together and take a bite: the nutty perilla oil aroma filling your mouth with the mild buckwheat noodles is art. It isn't harsh, and the more you chew the more savory it gets, so you never get tired of it and keep eating. It's a magical taste.

After you finish the noodles, pour about half a bowl of the dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth that comes with it and stir. You get another side of it, a clean, healthy flavor.

Pollack hoe makguksu for spicy lovers
If you like spicy seasoning, you can't miss the pollack hoe makguksu! It's generously topped with red sauce and sesame powder.
Maybe because the pollack hoe is cured by hand in apple vinegar and sea salt, the texture was soft yet still chewy. The moderately spicy, sweet-and-sour sauce clung to the buckwheat noodles, and I emptied the bowl in no time.

Pollack hoe suyuk: how to eat it like a samhap
Pollack hoe suyuk is a must-order when makguksu alone isn't enough. The ratio of fat to lean is a golden ratio. It's boiled well, with no gamey smell at all, tender and soft.

Put the red bossam radish strips (bossam-mu-chae) that come with it and the pollack hoe on a slice of suyuk and wrap it up like a samhap (three-way combo)? The spicy pollack hoe cuts the rich fattiness of the meat, and it's simply the best combination. One bite of makguksu, one slice of suyuk, and you can't put your chopsticks down. Seonbawi Memil Jangteo near Yangjae Citizens' Forest is a flavor I know and trust. Haha

Is there a review event at Memil Jangteo Yangjae?
Looking at the table, there's an event running: write a review on SNS (Google, Kakao, T map, Daangn) or a Naver receipt review and get one free canned drink! If you visit, join in and be sure to grab a cold drink.
Memil Jangteo Yangjae lunch: final verdict
Because it's 100% buckwheat, the noodles break off easily yet have that soft buckwheat texture I loved, and both the perilla oil and the pollack hoe sauce were deep in flavor without being harsh, so I was very satisfied. Adding the suyuk made it a perfect meal.

If you're looking for a proper makguksu restaurant near Seonbawi or Gwacheon, I strongly recommend Seonbawi Memil Jangteo near Yangjae Citizens' Forest!
