Ginseng chicken octopus hot pot with porridge finish in Gwacheon
Gwacheon Haesintang is a haesintang (seafood tonic hot pot) restaurant in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi, a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Government Complex-Gwacheon Station on the 2nd floor of Jeil Sangga. The writer ordered the samgye-dak nakji haesintang for two plus a porridge noodle add-on, fishing out octopus, abalone, scallops, shrimp and cordyceps mushroom before the chicken arrived at the end, and checked out the spacious hall and private room for 6 or more. It isn't a cheap everyday meal, but it's the kind of place that delivers a proper tonic feast for a family gathering.
