Chinese restaurant in Anseong with pet lounge: Chibao

Chibao is said to be a Chinese restaurant brand built on classic Chinese cooking with Taiwan’s distinctive flavors added in. We were curious about the menu, so T-rang, Yulmu, and I decided to try it for dinner 😆

Chibao Starfield Anseong: location and dining area

Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch (치바오 스타필드안성점) is in Eatopia on Starfield’s second floor!

There’s a dedicated dining area. There were plenty of seats and the space was fairly roomy, so it was nice for a relaxed meal 👍🏻

There’s also a water dispenser right beside the restaurant, so getting water is super convenient >, <

Chibao menu and how to order

Let’s have a look at the menu too 👀✨ It’s divided into meals, dishes, sides, and set menus. There was quite a variety, from jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tantanmen to jjamppong, fried rice, fried dumplings, and tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork)!

You can check the menu in advance and order right away by QR code. After you finish, just return everything to the tray-return station across from it—good to know, haha.

Using Eatopia’s pet lounge with a dog

Eatopia at Starfield Anseong has a separate Pet Lounge where dogs are welcome ✨

Since we visited with Yulmu, we grabbed a seat in the Pet Lounge 🐶💛

There’s even a poop-bag dispenser, haha. It was handy to be able to use one right away if needed when visiting with a dog!

Beef tantanmen with deep peanut flavor

Finally, the seafood-loaded jjamppong and beef tantanmen that Damppu ordered arrived 🍜✨

First off, I was surprised by how generous the portions were. The tantanmen looked delicious from the start, with its savory-looking broth and beef on top 🤤

The noodles were thicker than I expected, and there was seriously lots of beef! Plus bok choy, which I love 😆

I tried a bite topped with beef and bok choy. At first, the rich, nutty peanut flavor hit right away, followed by the flavor of the beef, so it was much bolder than I expected! As I ate, a subtle mala aroma came through at the end. It wasn’t too strong or harsh; it balanced the weighty, potentially slightly rich peanut flavor perfectly, so the combination worked really well. The broth wasn’t thin like a typical noodle soup either—it was a little thick and clung nicely to the noodles. It even felt a bit like eating creamy pasta, hehe. The bok choy stayed crisp, which was lovely, and it tasted even better with the rich tantanmen. I can never resist anything with bok choy in it 😆 haha.

Seafood-loaded jjamppong full of smoky wok flavor

The seafood-loaded jjamppong gave off a strong smoky wok aroma before I even took a bite 🔥 Wow, just smelling it made my mouth water... 😂

Maybe because it was seafood jjamppong, the broth was refreshing and clean. It had lots of seafood and a generous portion too, which I loved. Most of all, the smoky wok flavor in the broth was so my style 🔥 The noodles were springy and chewy, making them great to slurp up with the broth, and T-rang said it was delicious the moment they tried it, haha. I was eating the tantanmen, but I kept getting distracted watching them eat the jjamppong next to me 😂 In the end, I stole spoonfuls of the broth here and there, and that wok flavor got crazier and crazier the more I ate... 🧡

Overall, the portions were generous and we enjoyed both dishes. The smoky jjamppong in particular kept coming back to me 🍜✨ Since dogs are welcome too, we had a comfortable, delicious dinner with Yulmu 🐶🧡
