Mangwon Hangang Park floating café for Blue Wave soft serve: Puru Papa

I was looking for something a little different from the usual aesthetic-interior café, and that's how I found this Mangwon Hangang Park café, "Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi". Here's my real visit log!

Where is Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi? A floating building in Mangwon Hangang Park

Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi is on the first floor of MAPOINT Naru, a floating building just inside Mangwon Hangang Park with Seongsan Bridge in full view. It's the same building that houses Starbucks and Subway on the first floor, so it's really easy to find. ✨ Seoul's most honest river view, on a boat location.

The moment we arrived, the sparkling Han River ripples and a cool river breeze greeted us, and my friends and I were like "this spot pick is insane" and whipped out our cameras right away.

I'm always stuck in a forest of buildings, so relaxing in the middle of the Han River with everything open around me gave me a total dopamine rush.

What's the atmosphere inside Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi? Zoning out at the river behind folding doors

Inside, the folding doors are fully open, so it feels like sitting on an outdoor Han River terrace, with a cool, open feeling. 🌊 A great space for water-gazing (mulmeong).

Just watching the duck boats bobbing past the window and zoning out fully recharged my soul.

Puru Papa and Kkukku Sushi are side by side (so fun!), so you can make an unusual dessert combo, or go for a meal plus dessert^^ Maybe it's the special romance of being on a boat, but even the chat with friends I hadn't seen in a while felt so much more fun.

What is Puru Papa's signature? Round, swirly soft serve

Puru Papa is great for coffee too, but the round-looking soft serve is the real signature. 🍦 Desserts that nail both looks and taste. You can also go for a Han River run and grab a protein shake afterward. Oh! What a nice place ❣️ (Run there just to eat that, let's go!)

Each of us ordered to taste: affogato, Blue Wave, strawberry soft serve, and butter tteok (rice cake) for dessert.

🍨 Affogato: espresso and milk soft serve

Puru Papa's affogato is a coffee and ice cream combo, so it can't go wrong.

Rich, bittersweet espresso with nutty milk soft serve never betrays you. The coffee beans have a deep flavor, so a very refined sweetness lingers in your mouth.

🥣 Blue Wave: soft serve with marshmallow and cookie toppings

Puru Papa's Blue Wave shows that pretty things taste good too.

True to its name, it looks like the freshness of the Han River in a cup. We couldn't not order it! Colorful marshmallows and crunchy cookie toppings are studded into the ice cream, so it's fun to eat and fun to look at.

🍧 Strawberry soft serve: strawberry preserves with real fruit

Puru Papa's strawberry soft serve: strawberry never lets you down!

It's piled with strawberry cheong (preserves) where you can bite into fresh, tangy fruit pieces rather than just syrupy flavor. The rich milk base and tangy strawberry go well together, so it's a refreshing dessert to the very last bite.

🧈 Butter tteok: warm rice cake to eat with ice cream

We ordered Puru Papa's butter tteok to eat with the ice cream, and it made all of us go wide-eyed. It comes warmed up and individually wrapped, so it's neat, and it's golden outside and chewy inside. Put a little cold ice cream on top of the nutty butter flavor filling your mouth and it's a honey of a combo. Totally the trendy K-dessert vibe.

Who is Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi for?

If you want a relaxed, special time at the Han River, Puru Papa x Kkukku Sushi, a Mangwon Hangang Park café where you can enjoy cool, sweet desserts with a live river view from a boat on the Han, seems like a great choice. It's good for a date or for meeting up with friends. I really liked both the space and the food!
