The writer ordered two servings of seonghwa sirloin and spicy hanwoo jjapaguri (stir-fried instant noodles), ate the sirloin grilled at the table by staff with salt and wasabi, and finished with an Excellent ice cream bar. Yuk Tongryeong Gyodae Direct Store is a black pork barbecue restaurant a short walk from Gyodae Station in Seocho, Seoul. The order was two servings of the 15-day omija-aged black pork premium six-layer belly at 20,000 won per serving, plus a doenjang jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew) made with house-fermented meju and a bowl of rice, which showed off the thick cut, the chewy skin and a deeply savory stew.
