I've found a place I want to recommend to you all for a Hongdae date or blind date~ Omil Hongdae, where you can get a cute rubber duck doll as a gift!

Omil Hongdae location and directions

Omil Hongdae is at 178-8 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd floor, and it's open from 11:30 to 21:15. Come out of Hongik Univ. Station Exit 8, walk past the Who.A.U store, and turn right at Starbucks. You'll see a yellow sign on the 2nd floor.

Come up the red brick stairs and you'll reach Omil Hongdae on the 2nd floor~

Omil Hongdae has no parking lot, so please take public transport.

No wait at Omil Hongdae, we got in right away! Yay, so exciting~~

There are cute chairs for waiting, but we didn't have to wait at all, so lucky!

The tables at Omil Hongdae are for 2 or 4~ Perfect for a date or blind date, right?

There are outlets under the tables for a quick charge~ and if you don't have a cable, you can use the phone chargers at the self bar.

The restroom is right at the entrance, so it's easy to use~

We ordered the great-value Omil Hongdae set for two (₩48,700). For mains we got the Spicy Roe Pasta and the Rubber Duck Omurice, plus the Omil soba maki (buckwheat noodle roll) included in the set.

Spicy Roe Pasta

Omil Hongdae's Spicy Roe Pasta is an oil pasta with a savory, salty pollock roe base and a spicy roe oil that fills your mouth with umami.

Rubber Duck Omurice: the duck doll is limited quantity

Omil Hongdae's Rubber Duck Omurice comes with a cute rubber duck and a fluffy swirled omurice (rice omelet) with salmon fried rice inside. They say the rubber duck doll is given in limited quantity~

Soft, cute omurice~ I'd recommend it for a blind date ^^

Omil Soba Maki

Omil soba maki is buckwheat noodles, vegetables and a Japanese-style rolled omelet wrapped in seaweed with a special sauce base! Being buckwheat noodles, it feels light, and the soft omelet inside made it so delicious.

Events running at Omil Hongdae

When we visited, Omil Hongdae had an Instagram challenge going~ if you order the Gochujang Butter Pasta and post on Instagram, you get a morning roll. There's also an event giving one free drink for a Naver receipt review, so it seems worth joining!
