Solo tsukemen and extra chashu at a Deoksugung ramen bar: Mentsuru
Mentsuru City Hall Branch is a ramen restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, a short walk from City Hall Station and the Deoksugung stone wall path, open 11:00-21:30. Visiting before the Deoksugung night opening, this solo diner waited briefly at dinner time, took a bar seat and ordered tsukemen and abura soba, and rated the tsukemen broth simmered in a stone pot and the extra chashu the highlights. Turnover at Mentsuru is fast, so the meal costs little time and eating alone draws no second looks.
