Weekend solo study café in Sinnonhyeon, unmanned from 9 PM: Selecto

Let me introduce Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch 24 Auto Brew Cafe (셀렉토커피 신논현점 24 오토브루 카페), where I went to study on my own over the weekend. The coffee is good, the space is big, and there are lots of seats for studying, so I recommend it if you're looking for a study café near Sinnonhyeon Station.

What does the outside of Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon look like?

The exterior stands out with its orange accent sign. When I go to study alone, I check whether it's a place I can sit in for a long time, as much as I check the menu. Through the big glass windows, the inside of Selecto looked nice and roomy.

What did I eat at Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon?

There was a good variety of drinks, sandwiches and salads. This time I ordered a decaf Americano and a smoked salmon sandwich!

Is there plenty of salmon in the smoked salmon sandwich?

There was a really generous amount of salmon. It was evening, so I picked a sandwich too. Look at the cross-section, the salmon jumps right out at you, doesn't it? I'd expected a light café snack, but it left me properly full, which was great.

The bread was soft and easy to eat, and the salmon was tender to chew, so they went well together. It was packed with filling, and the salmon made its presence known in every bite!

How do you choose your beans?

You can pick your coffee from several beans to suit your taste. There were bold, nutty, bright, Geisha and decaf options. I came in the evening, so I chose a decaf Americano :) The unsweetened Americano went well with the sandwich.

Is Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon good for studying alone?

Inside, there were lots of tables and plenty of seats for studying alone. When I visited, many people had laptops or books open. Overall, the atmosphere was great for sitting and studying by yourself.

The space is large, so it felt less stuffy, and with others around spending time on their laptops or books, I could focus naturally too! It's a place I'd go back to when meeting a friend to chat, or on days I want to get out of the house and study for a change of mood!!

Are there group seats for several people?

There was also a big table where a group can sit together. It's good for coming alone to study, but it also seems fine for studying with friends or holding a meeting :)

Can you use a printer?

There was also a printer on one side of the café. It seems handy when you need to print something while studying.

What are the unmanned hours at Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon?

At night, the café switches to unmanned operation as 24 Auto Brew. It goes unmanned from 10 PM on weekdays and 9 PM on weekends, which is useful to know if you're looking for somewhere to study late!

• Monday–Friday: 22:00 to 08:00 the next day
• Saturday–Sunday: 21:00 to 10:00 the next day

These may vary on holidays or special schedules, so check first if you're visiting late!

I think Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon is a really great café for studying alone!! I loved the generous salmon in the smoked salmon sandwich and how it was filling enough to be a whole meal.
