Why I got hair and makeup in Hongdae before a wedding dress fitting

Before my wedding shoot dress fitting, I had my hair and makeup done at Moi Hair Makeup, a makeup salon in Hongdae! Apparently you need some makeup on when trying on dresses to get an accurate feel for them. (According to my planner!)

Where is Moi Hair Makeup, and what about parking?

Moi Hair Makeup is in the building right next to Exit 3 of Hongik Univ. Station. So easy to find! haha Just look for the MOI door on the basement level.

Parking is available, but you're charged after the first hour, so keep that in mind. Makeup prices may also differ by designer, so please ask the salon for details!

Inside Moi Hair Makeup and the waiting area

When you open the door of Moi Hair Makeup, there's a space where you can wait. The interior is really clean and cozy! They also had water and coffee ready to drink while you wait, which I liked.

Separate hair and base makeup areas

This is where I had my hair and base makeup done at Moi Hair Makeup. It's a separate, private area, so everything felt relaxed, which was great! And look at all those makeup products and hair tools! Ahh, I want to move it all into my room. haha (total personal bias)

Light waves for the fitting hair

The dress shop also styles your hair a bit, so I'd been thinking of a half-up style but asked for light waves instead.

Hongdae makeup time begins! This is me au naturel(?) with only the hair waves done. They set the waves and fixed them carefully, so they lasted well. After the simple base makeup and hair were finished, I moved to a bigger area for detailed makeup.

What do they ask in the consultation before makeup?

When you sit down, the makeup artist at Moi Hair Makeup asks what the makeup is for, your usual style such as pink or coral, and the colors you want. Look at all the makeup products here too, right?!

I said it was for a wedding shoot dress fitting and asked for defined eyes! And today's highlight: the eyebrows! My brows are dark and thick, so she said she'd shape them nicely to create a softer impression.

The makeup isn't finished yet, but look at the change in the brows!! Hongdae makeup at Moi Hair Makeup, amazing~ She shaped them beautifully and thinned out a lot of the bulk, so my look became so much softer. Golden hands, no doubt!! But can a clumsy person like me keep shaping my brows like this...? haha

Ta-da! The hair and makeup are done :) I took a photo before leaving the salon. haha The eye makeup came out defined, just as I asked, and the brows were finished perfectly to match my hair color!

Did it last two hours later in the sun?

Even two hours after I had it done, the hair and makeup from Moi Hair Makeup looked as good as new. This photo was taken in front of Galleria in Apgujeong Rodeo while I waited for my fiancé! It was a blazing sunny day, and the makeup held up even in natural light.
