Lately I've gotten hooked on discovering good-vibe cafés around Hongdae and Hapjeong haha. Each one decorated with its own personality has quietly become a little source of happiness for me. This time I went to Petrico near Hapjeong Station, and it was completely my style! With so many pretty furniture pieces and props, it had a showroom-like atmosphere that really drew me in.

Where is Petrico, and what are its hours and parking?
Petrico is about a 7–8 minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, so it's pretty accessible. It's still Seoul, but the small garden and brick interior give it a feel like you've traveled somewhere else. Parking is available after 6pm on weekdays and relatively easier on weekends, apparently. Best to check with the store directly for details!

Open from early morning until late, so it's great for spending relaxed time around Hapjeong Station. For an office worker like me, a good-vibe Mapo café that stays open late is precious haha.
Petrico's calm interior and signature soufflé menu
The moment I walked in, the high ceilings, well-spaced tables, and clean interior caught my eye first. It's a fairly spacious place, and each seat felt nicely independent.

You could tell a lot of care went into the lighting, tables, and every single seat. They even thoughtfully provided blankets and cushions. There were also a few essays and novels, so it seems like a nice spot to come alone and read.

The space looks even better in person than in photos, probably because it's kept so clean every day — people come here both to spend time alone and on dates haha.

Ordering is done via tablet, and there's a wide range of coffee, tea, and juice. The americano is priced around ₩5,000.

Their signature menu is the soufflé, baked fresh upon order — options range from fruit and chocolate banana to a platter that comes with sausage and scrambled eggs. There are also sweet tarts and terrines, so anyone looking for a Hapjeong café with great desserts would like this place too! I ordered the iced americano and the platter soufflé.
Is the platter soufflé filling enough for dinner?
Petrico's soufflé takes about 20–30 minutes to bake, so it's better to visit with some time to spare haha. I went in the evening meaning to have it as a meal substitute, and the portion was generous enough.

Two plump, soft-looking soufflés came out along with crispy grilled sausage, scrambled eggs, and salad.

With the lush green trees visible outside the window, even a weekday evening felt like a leisurely weekend! It felt like I was treating myself for once, which was really healing haha.

Time to drizzle on the sweet maple syrup that came with it and dig in while it's warm haha. The syrup is quite sweet, so if you're not a fan of sugary things, you might want to add it little by little!

So soft and pillowy it melts in your mouth. You can taste the nutty flavor of the egg too, with a slightly chewy texture. Sweet enough to fully recharge my sugar levels haha.

A bite of the fresh salad with balsamic dressing too! Eating dessert alone can sometimes make me worry about health, so it was nice to get some vegetables in as well.

How does Petrico's iced americano taste?
The chilled coffee had a strong nutty flavor and was appropriately robust, pairing well with the dessert. An americano that would likely please just about anyone.

The soft, fluffy scrambled eggs were delicious on their own, and also melted nicely when piled onto the bread.

And the salty sausage, need I say more~ My timing was a bit awkward that day so I went to have it as a dinner substitute, and it was satisfyingly filling. Next time I'd like to try the desserts too!

Final verdict on Petrico
If you're looking for a good-vibe café in Hapjeong that's open late, Petrico is worth checking out! The interior feels right for any season, so I plan to come back once autumn hits. The place was spotless, and both the drinks and desserts were delicious. Recommended for anyone looking for a spacious, atmospheric café near Hapjeong Station.
