Hagye Station sushi buffet family lunch: botan shrimp sushi, Kuu Kuu

I was craving sushi so badly the other day that I went with my family to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch!!

Location and parking at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch

📍247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul (Seoul Onchun Building)

🅿️The parking lot entrance is at the back of the building, and you get 2 hours free parking when you park at Seoul Onchun Building. *On weekends and holidays, the lot can get crowded with many visitors, and if it's full, parking may not be possible, so you'll need to use a nearby paid lot on your own.

A 300-pyeong space with group seating and time limits

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is over 300 pyeong of spacious, comfortable space, and the moment I walked in, the bright, relaxed atmosphere with natural wood and white tones really stood out. There's also group seating available in private spaces for 50 / 80 / 300 people, so it seems great not just for family gatherings but company dinners and group events too!!

The standard dining time at Kuu Kuu is 2 hours, but it drops to 1.5 hours if there are waiting customers.

Here are the new menu items this time!! From salads and pasta to inari sushi and tarts, they really rolled out only delicious things.

Upgraded sushi: botan shrimp sushi

Ta-da, right as I walked into Kuu Kuu there was an incredible variety of sushi.

This time the fish pieces got bigger than before, upgraded so you can enjoy a fuller mouthful. The rice portion got smaller and the sashimi got bigger, so the flounder and salmon in particular were huge. You can really feel the texture of the flounder and salmon more fully, so sushi lovers should be very satisfied. And the shrimp sushi now uses botan shrimp, so the sweet flavor comes through the more you chew — you can really taste the shrimp's richness.

Norwegian raw salmon sashimi and new smoked duck

Norwegian raw salmon sashimi, which you can't even find at Kuu Kuu's Gold branch, is newly available at Nowon Branch. You can taste the soft texture and rich flavor unique to fresh raw salmon, which is really great news for salmon lovers.

There's another new item too — smoked duck. No photo of it, but the chewy texture and deep flavor of the smoked duck went great with salad and paired well with a variety of dishes.

All-day lamb ribs

Good news for lamb lovers too! Newly launched lamb ribs really bring out the tender texture and distinctive flavor of lamb. Best of all, it's available all day, so you can enjoy it whether you visit for lunch or dinner.

Bead ice cream, now available at lunch too

After eating through a lot of dishes, I went to grab dessert and there were quite a lot of dessert types too. There was patbingsu (shaved ice), slushies, waffles and ice cream, coffee, and cake — something for adults and kids alike.

It used to only be available at weekday dinner and on weekends, but we went for weekday lunch and now you can get bead ice cream at lunch too!!!! Since it's a dessert kids really love, it seems like it'll be even more popular during summer break or family outings. There were two flavors: strawberry and rainbow.

On top of the bead ice cream, there was also gelato, so we got to try ice cream with a variety of textures. The chewy texture and range of flavors were really great.

I really love waffles too, and since a staff member makes them for you so you don't have to do it yourself, I just kept grabbing and eating them, hahaha.
