Jocheon, Jeju restaurant: dombe pork sold out by 1:30pm, Myeonjumak

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a Jeju black pork noodle restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon, Jeju. A reserved visit at 1:30pm came too late for gogi guksu (pork noodle soup) because the dombe pork (boiled pork slices) had sold out, so the meal was pork gukbap (rice soup) for 10,000 won, abalone porridge for 15,000 won and mul-mandu (boiled dumplings) for 8,000 won. Dombe pork is only boiled at 9am and noon, so time a visit to Myeonjumak around those hours if the noodles are the goal.

Jeju restaurant with a very hot mac and chicken double stack: Dixie's

Dixie's is a Southern American restaurant on Gwandeok-ro 8-gil, near Dongmun Market in Jeju City. The mac and chicken double stack ordered at the very hot spice level (21,900 won) tasted less heavy thanks to the chili heat, and the braised pork rice bowl (15,900 won) came in a generous portion. With blues, country and soul music playing and bar seats for solo diners, Dixie's is a good choice when you want something different to eat in Jeju.
