Gluttony Coffee near Jeju Airport: busy even on a weekday afternoon?

Gluttony Coffee is a café on Gunam-ro 2-gil in Jeju City, near Jeju Airport, and even though I went on a weekday afternoon, every seat was taken. Hunting for pretty cafés is a must on any Jeju trip, right? haha This time I went to Gluttony to enjoy drinks and desserts together. I figured a weekday afternoon would be a bit relaxed, so I was surprised to find it packed.

It wasn't even a weekend, and this many people! You really feel it's a popular café in Jeju City. Once I was there, I could see why people come. The atmosphere is lovely and the desserts look so tempting that I started looking around at everything the moment I walked in.

Halloween decorations at Gluttony Coffee

When I visited, Gluttony Coffee was decorated for Halloween, and the decorations were more cute than scary. They were so cute, honestly! With the seasonal touch added to the café's mood, it felt like a shame to just drink coffee and leave.

The Halloween mood wasn't just spooky; hunting for the cute details was fun, and I was in a good mood the whole time I looked around haha. Little decorations like these make a trip feel even more like a trip. If you're looking for what people these days call a "neuk-jo-eun" café (a café with a lovely, relaxed vibe), this is the one that comes to mind. Since the seats were full even on a weekday afternoon, I'd go expecting a popular café rather than a quiet, secluded one.

What we ordered at Gluttony Coffee

At Gluttony Coffee I ordered a good mix of drinks and desserts: a cream latte, hot apple tea, three financiers and an Oreo chocolate cake. I wanted so many things that picking just one wasn't easy, lol.

Cream latte: bitter coffee behind the sweet cream

I liked how the Gluttony Coffee cream latte lets you enjoy smooth cream and coffee together. The sweetness of the cream spreads in your mouth first, then the bitterness of the coffee follows, so it went well alternating with desserts.

I thought it's a good pick when you want a sweet drink but don't want to lose the coffee taste. The cream made every sip feel soft and cozy. At first I enjoyed the drink on its own, then took a bite of financier and sipped again, and I especially loved the combination of a buttery baked treat with the cream latte. It was exactly the sweet, relaxing café break I wanted haha.

Hot apple tea: an autumn flavor with cinnamon on apple preserve

The Gluttony Coffee apple tea is made by pouring hot water over apple preserve (cheong, fruit steeped in sugar) and sprinkling cinnamon powder on top. With the aroma of cinnamon added to the sweetness of apple, every sip felt like autumn. The sweet apple flavor came through well, which suited me since I prefer sweet drinks to bitter teas. Drinking it hot made the aroma feel even more comforting.

I especially liked the apple and cinnamon combination. The subtle aroma added to the familiar sweetness of apple, so it felt richer than a drink that's just sweet. Sipping hot apple tea while looking at the Halloween decorations made me feel like I was enjoying autumn even in Jeju. If you want something warm and sweet instead of coffee, the apple tea is worth a try.

How many financier flavors does Gluttony Coffee have?

At the time of my visit, Gluttony Coffee listed six financier flavors: plain, sweet potato, lemon, salted caramel, matcha and chocolate. I ordered one each of sweet potato, salted caramel and chocolate.

When I look for dessert cafés in Jeju, I always check the baked goods too. Gluttony has a wide range of financiers, so even choosing was fun. From basic flavors to sweet ones to aromatic ones, you can pick by taste. I wavered between plain for the basic flavor and lemon or matcha for something different, and ended up with three. Since the flavors were different, alternating between them kept it tasty until the very end.

Sweet potato financier: soft sweet potato with butter flavor

The sweet potato financier had that soft, sweet sweet-potato charm. The butter flavor blended with the nutty sweet potato taste, so it felt familiar and I kept reaching for it. Rather than just sugary sweetness, it had a gentle sweetness from the sweet potato, so it went well even with the hot apple tea. It fits the autumn mood too, and I was glad I picked it haha.

Salted caramel financier: sweet-and-salty with the cream latte

I liked the salted caramel financier, where saltiness joins the sweet caramel flavor. The salt stands out among the sweetness, so it's a sweet-and-salty combo that makes you go bite after bite. If the sweet potato one is soft and nutty, the salted caramel is more distinctly sweet and salty. It went nicely with a sip of coffee, so I ate it with the cream latte.

Sharing the three and comparing them was fun, and we finished every one. If you go with several people, rather than all picking one kind, choosing different flavors and sharing sounds good. Next time I'm curious about the plain, lemon and matcha that I didn't try this time.

Oreo chocolate cake: rich chocolate with cookie flavor

I didn't want to stop at financiers, so I also had the Gluttony Coffee Oreo chocolate cake. Chocolate and Oreo? I couldn't pass it by just from the name, lol. The rich sweetness of chocolate with Oreo's cookie flavor was great when you're craving something sweet.

Eating it slowly bite by bite with a drink made my café time even more satisfying. If the financier is a nutty baked treat, the Oreo chocolate cake fills the craving for a chocolate dessert. I would have regretted ordering only drinks, so I came away having enjoyed the desserts fully.

Gluttony Coffee: a sweet break during a Jeju trip

The Halloween decorations at Gluttony Coffee were cute to look at, and with such a variety of drinks and desserts, it was a memorable café in Jeju City. Seeing the seats full on a weekday afternoon showed how popular it is, and after trying the drinks and desserts I understood why so many people come. I went for the atmosphere and happily left having enjoyed the desserts too.
