Seosomun Chinese izakaya for summer-only mazangmyeon: Huhugwan
Huhugwan is a Chinese izakaya in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the second floor above City Hall Menzzuru in the Seosomun alley by City Hall Station Exit 10. At 7:30pm on a weekday there was no wait, and a window seat came with summer-only mazangmyeon (peanut sauce noodles) at 13,000 won, sold only through late September, fried eggplant at 18,000 won, and garlic scape fried rice at 11,000 won. The thick peanut sauce of the mazangmyeon and the crisp-outside, tender-inside fried eggplant were the highlights at Huhugwan, while the braised pork belly was sold out and left for a next visit.
