Weekend-night gyukatsu restaurant in Yeouido, sirloin for two: Izawa
In short
Izawa Yeouido Direct Store is a gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Yeouido Jonghap Sangga, right in front of Yeouido Station in Seoul. On a weekend evening there was no wait at Izawa, and the gyukatsu set with sirloin (18,000 won) for two was ordered at the tabletop kiosk, then grilled to medium-rare on the tableside brazier. Crisp outside and tender inside with wasabi over rice, plus 1 hour of free ground-floor parking with a meal, makes Izawa an easy return visit.

Hello!😇 Today's post is about Izawa, a gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) spot right in front of Yeouido Station 🥩🍚

Where is Izawa Yeouido Direct Store, and where do you park?
Izawa is right in front of Yeouido Station, on the 2nd floor of Yeouido Jonghap Sangga! Super accessible 👍🏻 Parking is available in the ground-floor lot of the building, with 1 hour free when you dine (the underground lot is paid!) Izawa is a favorite among Yeouido office workers — packed with them on weekdays, and a great stop after The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall on weekends.

Weekend-evening wait and the room inside Izawa
We came on a weekend evening and got in right away, no waiting at all — (if there is a wait, you write your name on the waitlist in front of the store). The inside is spacious and comfortable! Since it's a place where you grill meat on a brazier at your table, they crank the AC — we enjoyed a very cool meal 🤍

There were autographs from various celebrities around, including singer Lim Young-woong's, haha. Given how prominently it's placed near the AC unit and on the wall, I'm guessing he's a friend of the owner...!

Izawa menu and prices
Izawa's menu includes:
- Gyukatsu set (sirloin) — ₩18,000
- Curry gyukatsu (sirloin) — ₩20,000
- Steki set (sirloin) — ₩18,000
- Steki don (sirloin) — ₩18,000
- Mazesoba — ₩12,000
- Karai ramen — ₩12,000
- Basil ramen — ₩12,000
- Panmomil (cold buckwheat noodles) — ₩9,500
...and more! There were so many good options it was hard to choose, but we went with the classic — the gyukatsu set for two ☺️ Next time I want to try the karai ramen or the curry gyukatsu, haha.

Ordering at the kiosk and setting up the brazier
Orders go through the tabletop kiosk! (There were options like adding cabbage, swapping the charcoal, and swapping the grill plate on the kiosk, which was clear and convenient.) As soon as we ordered the gyukatsu, they brought out the brazier right away 🔥

What comes with the gyukatsu set at Izawa?
The gorgeous gyukatsu set finally arrives 🥹 It comes with gyukatsu, cabbage, pickled radish, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), two dipping sauces, and miso soup.

It was fun choosing between the two sauces — soy sauce and garlic sauce — according to taste, and the rice had just the right firm texture.

Since the gyukatsu uses sirloin, it's incredibly tender and nutty tasting 👍🏻

Grilling the sirloin gyukatsu to medium-rare
Sizzle on the brazier — 🥹🔥🔥 How well-done do you all like your meat!? I like mine a bit rare, medium-rare. Being able to grill it exactly to your taste is one of the perks of gyukatsu!! It cooked up quickly too, which was great 👍🏻

Look at that rosy red meat!! Doesn't that grain look super fresh and delicious? Haha.

Once it's cooked right, top it with wasabi and eat it with rice 🍚🥩 The wasabi wasn't too spicy, so it was easy to control how much you added. The breading was crispy but not hard, and the inside was tender — a proper crispy-outside, juicy-inside bite, haha.

One or two pieces just weren't enough, so I kept piling on three or four at a time ₍ᐢɞ̴̶̷.̮ɞ̴̶̷ᐢ₎ A truly delicious and satisfying meal!!
Is Izawa in Yeouido worth a second visit?
Izawa in Yeouido is a certified real gyukatsu gem — I'll definitely eat here again next time I'm in Yeouido, haha. Being right in front of Yeouido Station inside Yeouido Jonghap Sangga makes it super accessible too. Browsing The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall and then having gyukatsu at Izawa right by the station sounds like a great combo course! Highly recommend. That wraps up my review of Izawa Yeouido Direct Store 😇
