On a scorching day, the place I rushed to for a cup of coffee was Chat Baker, a big café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong. That day I didn't need coffee, I needed rescuing. Seriously.

How hot was it? Just walking from the parking lot to the café entrance, I felt like I'd already finished an iced americano. Only in my mind, of course. My hands were totally empty. This is a serious situation. Haha.

Because I'm someone who can't get through a morning without coffee. Phone battery at 5%? I can survive. Forgot my wallet? I'll figure it out. No coffee? Not an option. That's a disaster. So I started frantically searching for a café.

I have a lot of requirements. But in this heat I can't just walk into any random café and regret it, right? So, in the heatwave, with the spirit of a treasure hunter, I searched "Anseong Gongdo brunch café" and "Pyeongtaek Anseong big café."

And there it was: Chat Baker. My first thought when I walked in was just one word: "Wow..." My second thought: "Can I just stay here instead of going home today?" Haha.

Is Chat Baker's space just big?

Chat Baker is perfectly placed as a café near Anseong Farmland, and it's spacious without feeling empty, so you want to stay long the moment you sit down!

I figured a big Pyeongtaek-Anseong café would just be big, so isn't it cheating that it has charm too? Big spaces can sometimes feel hollow, but Chat Baker was big, pretty, and even comfortable.

That's why it's going on my Anseong Farmland café recommendation list. I went in for coffee and came out smitten with the space.

A tip for anyone looking for a café near Anseong Farmland: if you arrive hungry, your plans will collapse. And the upside of a big Pyeongtaek-Anseong café: lots of people, but no stuffiness. Much more open and airy than my life. Haha.

How are the breads and cakes at Chat Baker?

Chat Baker has plenty of breads, including cakes and salt bread (shio pan-style buttery rolls), so even if you only came for coffee, it's hard to walk past the bakery.
